Though it was made illegal to sell prescription drugs through the Ryan Haight act, which explicitly prohibit the on-line sale of these drugs without at least one in person doctor’s office visit, the problem is still rampant. It is extremely difficult to crack down on the online pharmacies because many are based/located overseas where the United States have no jurisdiction. This is clearly unethical to sell a drug to a patient without a prescription, so why do these e-Pharma companies do it. It is most definitely an outcome based approach on ethics. There is a lot of money to be made in the online prescription industry.
While nice in theory, TOR is not publically accepted and is widely regarded as the “darkweb” due to the sheer amount of illicit content accessible. PRISM is an ongoing data-mining program created and heavily used by the NSA. In theory, PRISM is to be used for the investigation of foreign targets, but its scope has been broadened as the data collected by PRISM affects most citizens internationally. With societies current dependence on internet giants such as Microsoft and Google, it is near impossible to avoid
Jane Mukala Professor Hart ENG 101 March 18, 2015 Does The Internet Make You Dumber? Nicholas Carr argues that the internet has bad effects on the brain. He says that the internet makes it harder to remember anything, and that it is harder to move memories into long term memories. Carr thinks that by skimming information, it will diminish the ability to read long texts; I disagree with him because the internet makes actually makes us smarter and think accurate because we are aware of every little information around us. Carr thinks that excessive use of the internet might cause permanent changes to the way our brains work and we don’t have to remember as much, because we have RAM (Random Access Memory).
Distracted Driving: Technology has become an obsession among many Americans. Over the years cell phones have gone from a business necessity, to a personal necessity. As a result of cell phone dependence and the need for a person to always be accessible, Americans continuously endanger themselves and others by texting while driving. The Vermont texting while driving law is widely ignored because it is severely flawed. Texting while driving has been forbidden in Vermont since July 2010.
A wide range of tech savvy devices and gadgets have been invented for different purposes. Whilst each serves a particular purpose, they have the tendency to be misused and of abuse to people. Closed-Circuit television CCTV is an invention which partakes in 24 hour surveillance of particular areas, the every move of civilians in range is recorded. There are no current laws on the use of CCTV cameras, hence why it is often an invasion of privacy against individual human rights. A survey conducted illustrated that the lack of knowledge as to who had access to CCTV footage was an unsettling thought for the general public.
Video Case Assignment #2 Questions Questions: 1. a. Some advantages of an online survey of a cross section of Internet households are lower costs, instant results, instant updates, and better responses. The disadvantages are that not all households have Internet access, if the survey is sent via email, it may be considered junk mail. Also, some people just fill out the surveys to get the promotional offer and will just fill out anything. The disadvantages in not being able to reach as many individuals due to lack of internet or lack of email accessibility, provides major negative impacts for research.
This includes both payment and recognition and is the reason behind copyright laws. One of several misconceptions many people have about plagiarism and copyright protection is that it does not apply to material on the Internet. But the truth is that words, pictures, and songs available on the Internet are as likely to be copyrighted as anything you might find in the library or the record store. Doing anything other than viewing the information on the Internet probably requires permission at least and perhaps payment. You can no more download and share Internet content, in most cases, than you can walk out of a music store with a handful of CD's you didn't pay
Leonard Birts ENF 234 Computers in Law Enforcement October 30, 2011 The growing danger from crimes committed against computers, or against information on computers, is beginning to claim attention all around the world. This lack of legal protection means that businesses and governments must rely solely on technical measures to protect themselves from those who would steal, deny access to, or destroy valuable information. Self-protection, while essential, is not sufficient to make cyberspace a safe place to conduct business. Countries where legal protections are inadequate will become increasingly less able to compete in the new economy. As cybercrime increasingly breaches national borders, nations perceived as havens run the risk of having
If a company is wanting to expand their market to another country that has different cultures, languages or religious beliefs it must become familiar with these differences. Without this knowledge marketing and sales would be very unsuccessful. Personally I have seen how the world has been impacted by global and diversity awareness through Facebook. After 9-11, posts on Facebook seemed very Americanized and even harsh towards any middle eastern culture. People could hardly tell the difference between the cultures and negative comments were vague.
In countries like China, the freedom of religion is denied to all the residents there. The freedoms of speech, press, and assembly are also denied. This is because for the longest time China has been nervous of a rebellion of the people because as a whole, the population is angry. They are angry that they can’t do the things or have the rights that we do as Americans. Even inside the borders of our great nation, the Constitution shows that it’s still relevant to the American society.
