The Power of One Essay Conformity is the process by which an individual's attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors are influenced by other people. Individual is the meaning of a single human being as distinguished from a group. Conformity and individuality are clearly shown in the film ‘The Power of One’. In the film, it shows that one person can change the world. That one person may not be able to do an entire proportion physically to change the world, but has the ability to inspire others to help that person change the world. It also shows very strongly that one person can place an example for others that may well involve the effect of any circumstances. The character P.K., sharply against a prejudiced authority formation, his "power of one" being an ability to experience personal tragedy/brutality and nevertheless keep hold of his beliefs, a child who discovers to not let fear control the experience of living. This is how individuality represents the film ‘The Power of One’. The hostility and poverty that was forced on the Africans, confirms the apartheid they suffered. P.K. himself saw the discrimination of this organisation of segregation and was greatly standing up for his values and refusing the concept of conforming to the South African government’s prospect of following apartheid.
