People tend to say they lie because the truth hurts but really it is what it is “The Truth”. I realize that by being honest and telling the truth it gives me peace of mind that I am doing the right thing. These strengths help me in my day-to-day life by allowing me to love and be loved, treat people the way I want to be treated, helping others, and being honest regardless of the outcome. All these are great qualities that employers look for in an employee. Employers want people that are good team players, customer oriented and honest.
This success will make me become a more responsible person also. Responsibility relates to being a better individual. Being a better person means you have to be a role model, help others, and be independent. People will look up to you and will want to follow in your footsteps. A responsible person will always help someone in need no matter what the favor is.
With saying that, I know that if I try hard and work hard, I will reach success. I must know that along with success comes failure. When failure happens I must not let it get in the way of my goals, I must develop ways I can fix my failure and keep moving. I also must learn the traits of a successful person, see the parts of my life that need improvement, and then move toward more success in my own life. Taking control of my choices and not being a victim of the change life is going to throw at me is another role that is important on my way to success.
The article was very interesting to me because it mentions good qualities that a good mentor should have. For example, one needs to look for someone who is well-respected and willing to be themselves, someone who has the time to be available, someone who is either really technically smart, and someone who has a great reputation. All of these I thought were excellent examples in searching for the right mentor. I learned that if all goes well with the mentor, then I will develop a fruitful professional relationship with someone who will be not just my trusted counselor and guide, but also my advocate. The interesting thing that came from this article was finding different ways searching for the perfect mentor for someone.

With good family cohesion, an individual is supported praised by their family, and can talk to and find help from their family (von Soest, Mossige, Stefansen, & Hjemdal, 2010). The feeling of being loved unconditionally is a vital motivation and the mainstay for an individual to sustain, to preserve, and not to give up when facing adversities. For example, when people face an adverse situation or a significant change, it is likely for them to feel worried and anxious. As a result, they will turn to their family, who they trusted the most, to pour out their troubles if they have good family cohesion. In this way, their stress can be relieved, and their family can provide support by expressing their empathy, give some suggestions and the senior family members can share their own life experience with the person.

This type of motivation is similar to social needs in respects such as acceptance; acceptance by friends, family, and finding love. Safety is another reason for motivation; to stay out of harm, which also relates to the physiological needs such as satiation, shelter, sleep. All of these factors are reasons people are motivated, but there are other reasons explained in the expectancy theory. People are motivated to react a certain way, perform a certain way; behave a certain way because they will get the outcome that they deserve. A child will behave so they do not get in trouble or will be praised by their parents.
