Although the flowers are asymmetrical, the artist has tried to create an element of balance by placing them almost at the middle of the painting, and through the mixing of intense and dark colors. This makes the flowers to stand out clearly in the painting. The artist uses a variety of colors to make the painting beautiful and reduce a sense of monotony (Buster and Crawford 31). The viewer is looking at the flowers from a distance thus their medium size. This brings the effect of realism generated by the painting.
In the photo there is a lot of contrast in the values. The dark colors and the shadows are juxtaposed toward each other. There aren’t many blacks, the colors range in the gray zones. Color isn’t the only thing that is contrasting in the photo. The circular and curves of the hat, vase, and stairs contrast with the rectangular shapes of the floor, doorways, and tables.
The shuttlecocks were created in the shape of an obvious triangle. The artists did not use any values when painting these sculptures. Since these are three-dimensional sculptures, the need to create three-dimensionality using values doesn’t exist. Natural light does create excellent shadows within the individual sculptures. Each sculpture has incorporated an individual sense of movement.
The phrase “La Trahison des Image” translated to English means “The treason of Images”. The medium of this artwork is a painting known as a oil on canvas. This painting is neither a interior or exterior setting due to it simply being a picture on a black background. The space is simply organized. The painting consists of a picture of a brown pipe in the center with the phrase “Ceci n’est pas une pipe” under the pipe.
When looking more towards the back where the white is I get the feeling of innocence and good things coming near. Amanda used a lot of chiaroscuro in her artwork, which is the use of deep variations in and subtle gradations of light and shade. I say this because even though her drawing is a lot of black there is a lot of shading as well. Looking into the white area at the top you can see shading around it, making that area pop out and become the point of view of the artwork where the eye will naturally go towards. When looking at this artwork it reminds me of a desert and things that relate to a desert.
The work is very realistic. It has a calm, graceful way to show the story of the Street Story Quilt. When I look at the art, I'm relaxed in a way that is different. The Street Story Quilt sets a mood for people to not only look, but read and get to know the art. Make yourself familiar of what is going on.
The form of this picture is many different types of mountains laid out. They are all covered in plants and forest type objects. The sky looks darker and calm, while there seems to be mist that covers the lower bottom. There seems to be pathways leading up to the bigger mountains, while around those
The lines and strokes accentuate the beauty of this artwork. The black parallel lines and the series of pink shapes create movement and also they frame the picture. The artwork is balanced in such a way that directs the eyes to the heart of the artwork. The light back ground emphasizes the dark and deep tones of the subject. The artist did a brilliant job tying all the pieces, colors, shapes and patterns together.
I would not argue that there is any one main object in this piece, but it is set up so that no one object is directly centered on the page. I am not sure about where the true focal point is, but I think it is the darkest area on the piece, just near one of the lightest areas, by the grapes and dark red stack of plates. The different shapes divide the space, and at the same time the way everything is laid out connects it. Janet Fish’s still life is a very beautiful piece with a very complex and eye-catching
The painting itself has a very grainy look to it. It is not a “smooth” painting. Individual brush strokes can be seen. From the distant it looks like a big blob of green and brown and white, but once you get closer, you see a lot more detail – and I mean a lot. That is because Constable did put a lot of details in the painting, even though some of them can be hard to identify.
