The story of the Sheppard murder inspired Bullock to write more. Bullock's essay tells us about what motivated him to love to read and write. In the book Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger, the main character Holden longs for intimacy with others. Throughout the book, it is shown that Holden has many interesting views about women, and appears to have different categories in which to sort them, one of which is the category for girls that he likes and respects. These interactions with women show Holden’s innocence as a character and immaturity. One of the girls that Holden has respect for is Jane. She reminds him of his childhood, which he is entranced by, and he wishes he was still a part of it.
the short story, " Long walk to forever ", Kurt Vonnegut Jr places many ironic situations that are apparent to the reader. Throughout the story, us readers are able to perceive the love between Newt and Catherine as blind, ever since childhood, up to one week before Catherine's wedding. One can evaluate the rekindle of their love and their true emotions. Many ironic situations unfold as the story proceeds and clues are given in conclusion of the two character's finalized happily ever after. During their childhood, Vonnegut states that there was never any talk of love, just a playful and comfortable warmth between the two.
It was in the early 50’s where he first began entwined with the mob. The mob was on a turning point in the early 50’s. Though he never took part in any mob activities, he still gathered money from family that did. He never did any mob dealings because he felt that if he ever needed to gain money or possessions, he would gain them for the benefit of others. “This is my personal favorite characteristic of him, and most likely the smartest decision he ever made in his life.” States my Aunt Jenny about the mobster deals that Da’dooch turns down.

The Green lights eternal burning represents Gatsby’s longing for being rich. To him, Daisy portrays the best treasure he could have ever obtain, and everything he became, he did for her. Gatsby always had all his lights on, his parties happened without fail. Nick narrates, “It was when curiosity about Gatsby was at its highest that the lights in his house failed to go on one Saturday night.” (Fitzgerald 113) Fitzgerald uses the lack of light to show something is wrong, or has changed Gatsby.
They raised six kids and really did not want to raise another one; this resulted in them giving her anything her heart desired. When I read “The Lesson” I felt like the kids who were wishing they could have just one expensive toy, while she was the kid that got all the toys in the entire store.
