Taylor Herport September 8, 2013 The Notebook The Notebook staring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams gives the viewer a wonderful and tender love story. The passionate and aching romance of two young lovers. This story captures the enduring love between two young lovers that meet in 1946. Noah Calhoun is a rural and poor southern that falls for Allie Nelson, a young and wealthy southern girl who falls for Noah the summer before going to college. The beginning of the film is set in present day coastal North Carolina. An elderly man reading to elderly women who doesn’t remember anything from her past. The man reads to her this notebook every day yearning for her to remember. He believes that if he reads to her every day, one day she will remember the love they once shared and cherished. The Notebook shows the life of the same couple but two parts of their lives. We see them at their young age and at their elder age. We see them face many things in their life together some good, beautiful, bad, and tragic. Noah shows a lot of dedication to get Allie to go out with him. He says that he was drawn to her, when he sees something he likes he loves it and has to have it. As we all know he eventually does when his friends set Allie up to go to the movie with them. Allie is a rich kid spending the summer at the family’s mansion in North Carolina. Noah is a local guy who works at the Sawmill but is smart and very caring. He lives with just his dad, his dad is very caring as well, Allies parents are stuck up and think Noah is just trash and only wants one thing. Noah falls in love with her right away once he meets her, but she didn’t, Noah didn’t give up on her, he hung by the Ferris wheel at the carnival until she said yes to go out with him. After that one night of them being together Noah and Allie spent every waking moment together and soon they were
