Unfortunately there is a certain bravado and celebration that is granted to those who interact in immoral physical relationships. Not only has society deemed it acceptable for couples to have close intimate relationships before marriage but it is a very prevalent and popular action throughout the American culture. Gradually the media, families, government and even certain religious institutions have taken this special interaction meant for husband and wife and have twisted and corrupted it into an action of bravado and renown. It has been made into a celebrated action that is nonchalantly broadcasted in front of live audiences. If a concept is presented as acceptable and “cool” through the use of media then this portrayal is found reflected in the behavior and personality of these individuals. How many times has a kid viewed something in an action scene on television and then shortly after attempted to mimic this event? Nearly every adolescent in school repeatedly quotes humorous lines or phrases from a movie they have recently seen. The media has an astoundingly prodigious affect on today’s youth. Whether it is immoral physical behavior, fighting, or the use of drugs, if this action is made out to be desirable or humorous through the media many teens will seek after or take part in this detrimental action. Numerous times I have witnessed events such as these occur from a friend or schoolmate who witnessed it in the media and assumed that this qualified it as acceptable and good. I had a friend who intentionally chews and drinks alcohol partly from the effect of the media. I had asked him on occasion why he does these illegal actions and in turn he would reply, “Dude it’s not a big deal man it’s everywhere, TV, school, family; on the television people do twice as horrible things then I do and they are perfectly fine.” It is almost as if many of the youth of today cannot separate the difference between the fiction that television presents and what consequences they will receive in…show more content…
The family is the centerpiece to society and has the ability to either create successful distinguished individuals or produce violent and vehement criminals. The personality behavior and success of every child begins in the home. When a child has an unsupportive family or abusive parents this can in many cases enrage the youth and transform him or her into a spiteful individual filled with loathing and malcontent for the world. Or the family may rear a child up in a loving and supportive environment which will in most cases produce a compassionate and friendly person. The product of an individual’s behavior is largely based upon the environment of that person’s home life. The government is also another factor that largely controls society’s attitude and inadvertently supports the immoral physical behavior that largely exists in America. The government’s laws and regulations on society is a factor based upon the fear of consequence that exists in people. Through the boundaries that the government has set on civilization people behave and act in a certain way based upon these
