How Hannah, Eva, and Sula Showed love Love is not always easy some people find it very difficult to show or express their feeling. Love also sometimes takes us on an emotional roller coaster full of painful moments. Hannah, Eva, and Sula up raised have a great influence on how they show love, and their perception of what love was. The love between Hannah, Eva, and Sula was always there, although they never showed it openly. Both Hannah and Sula never felt their mothers ever loved them. Love can provide us with an insight as to how emotionally attached a person may become to another person. Love can be difficult within families. It can manifest itself as an act that in some case can cause a distortion. like Eva‘s motherly love shows how a mother will do anything to protect and care for her children. For example she gave one of her legs to see to it that her children had food to eat, and a place to live. She also threw herself out of a window hopelessly and desperate to save her daughter who burn to death. Eva killing her son Plum was an example of how strong her love was for him. Of all her children Eva loved Plum best. This did not change even after his return from war as a heroin addict. Her decision to kill him is an expression of her love for him. Her love for him is so powerful she is unable to watch as he plummets further into addiction, so she kills him. This can be seen as a sacrifice .A mother putting her son who she loves unconditionally out of his misery and losing him forever. On another level it can be seen as a selfishness because of her motherly love for him she believed she had the right to decide what was best for him.“ Plum had developed an impact bowel, after listening to his piercing cries for days Eva lubricated her fingers with lard and dug the compacted stools out of him, saving him” (p.34).Eva felt that death was better than
