That is why, many of them are tempted by higher wages in the West. Secondly, people who choose going abroad to work are joined by their families after some time. They are of hope that in a new country there will be better opportunities for education and work, life would be simpler and easier and the standard of living will rise. On the other hand, leaving a country by highly-educated and skilled workers can have a negative impact on our country's economony by weakening it. The rate of unemployment will grow which means fewer hands to work and not proper development of any branches of industry.

Many of the immigrants that migrate were left with no other option but to enter illegally through the border because in there countries they suffered from poverty, crime, the lack of education and opportunities. Abrego writes about a young boy named Daniel and his struggles living in El Salvador while his father is in the United States looking for work.
Many native-born Americans saw immigrants as a threat to society and to the economy. Even though they were better off in the United States many immigrants still experienced hardships. Other Americans made organizations, houses and societies to help immigrants. Immigrants were inspected when they passed through the check point at Ellis Island in the New York Harbor. Any disease, defect or weakness shown would get them sent back.

The story takes place in a beautifull wine county in California. They do not mention any specific year when the setting is but its clear that it’s modern time • This is a book about normal people with their normal problems so the outcome of that is that the characters acts normal and seems to me very lifelike. At several points in the book the reader or at least I feel that I’ve been put in the exactly same situation as the characters.
A- Uprooted: Refugees of the Global Economy 1,Main point of the movie: The global economy has forced people to leave their home countries to survival. 2,Connection to Devil’s Highway I think that the connection between “Uprooted: Refugees of the Global Economy” and “ Devil’s Highway” is that people come to the United States to survival. They want to have a better life here because they had a hard life in their home countries. However, It is not too easy to live in the United States. They have to face with many challenges here.
