When it came to the court, the courthouse was filled with people, and when Atticus actually proved that Tom was innocent, people were furious. Because Mayella had bruises on the right side of her face, arm, and neck, but what people didn´t know was that Tom couldn´t use his left hand , because it was shorter than the other and it hung dead by his side, and he therefore could only use his left hand, so he couldn´t have hit Mayella or raped her. It had probably been done by someone who had been left handed, most likely Bob Ewell, her father, Atticus then claimed that Mayella had lied about the rape because she broke the „code“ that says white women cant be attracted to black men, and Atticus proved this in front of the jury that Tom Robinson was innocent, but that wasn´t enough, the jury still found Tom Robinson guilty, just because he was black. After that, Tom Robinsons tried to escape, he tried to run away and climb over a fence, and got shot trying to run away and was killed, when Atticus found out, he personally went to miss Robinsons house and tells her that Tom has died, anybody else would have sent a messenger to do that, because a white man should not spend time in a black neighborhood.
Eventually they all are removed or asked to leave. Whenever Vern Templeton was at a bar, he was undoubtedly the drunkest person at that bar. And if he got there late, it never took him long to catch and pass the leader of the drunken mass. By these means he usually alienated himself from the crowd with odd chortles and tasteless searing jokes pointed at unpresuming bystanders. Once while playing a dive bar in Roanoke, Virginia, Vern Templeton offended an entire table of 5 in a brief exchange.
In my eyes I view the theme as being something along the lines do not ever settle on something you don not want to do. He was doing something he did not really want to do but he did not realize it until right before he died. If his job had not made him into a bitter old man that he was, it contributed more than enough. “Anders had never paid much attention to that part of the bank, a pompous old building with marble floors and counters and pillars, and gilt scrollwork over the tellers’ cages” (Wolf 107). The robber puts the gun to Andre’s head and tells him to look up and he sees a painting he had never seen before even though he had been going to this same bank for years and all he can do is criticize the artwork.
Later on in the novel, whenever Huck, Jim, The King, and The Duke are in Pikesville, Arkansas, there is another example of how racist the southerners were. The Duke and The King realize they are out of money. In a bar one night, The King decides to sell Jim for forty dollars. Then after he receives the money, The King spends it on whiskey before he even leaves the bar. Jim was an item to them, not a person.
Everyone dropped their guns except brad and Phil who had pulled out their guns. Their backs were to the cops and the cops saw Phil’s badge but they did not see Brad’s badge due to him never finding it after the scuffle. One was scared cause Brad was pointing his gun all over the place at the mob members running away. This police officer shot at Brad and hit him in the leg. Brad went rolling on the ground and started shouting, “I’m a cop!
I Hate the Jury… Jury, you may complete your decision on the counts of robbery with a deadly weapon,” the Judge announced. I could tell he was fatigued and slightly exasperated by the edge in his voice. I don’t know what got me here or even how I got here all I remember is the officer’s arm that smelled like rotten gym shorts pressed against my neck yelling, “nice try trying to steal that money. Next time, remember that there’s an alarm!” He snickered to his partner. It took me a little while to grasp it, and when I did, I was astonished.
In 1826, an American named Jedediah Smith started to sell furs form different routes. Over time, more American came to California for a shelter and land. By 1848, they learned it was full of real gold. (My State, 3) That was the starting of the Gold Rush, the time that changed California forever. Then the United States defeated Mexico that declared California and part of Mexico were now parts of the United States (My State, 4).
He became a liar like everyone else. When he was brought to the stand he exclaimed, under oath, that he did not see any of the town’s citizens in the act. This made him a selfish person; he was looking out for his own interests because it was election year. He saw everyone clearly and knew exactly what happened. He even saw it from inside the jail.
A middle name was usually common but he spoke as if had never had one. Richie had no real friends; just acquaintances that he met hopping from gin mill to gin mill, but paid no mind to it. He was a torpedo of sorts, freelance, and couldn’t afford to have friends because it might interfere with his work. Killing strangers was no biggie, but to bump off someone that he knew
Even more than that, had glass rods inserted up their urethras and smashed with hammers showed that he didn’t have any remorse for hurting and killing these young boys it actually turned him on. As with other serial and mass murderers, (The Houston Horrors, 1973). Corll’s background was chaotic this emerged from him getting older, in an article he mother stated, “He began hanged, and he became quick to get angry and seemed ultra sensitive to things, particularly his age: He loathed the idea of getting old. He also started to drink, and in conversations with his mother, Mary West (their names were different because she had been married a number of times), he seemed very depressed, on the verge of suicide.”(Bardsley, 2013) There were interviews conducted after the news of the mass murder came out they had nothing but nice thing to say about him. An old girlfriend stated, “Dean was one of the kindest men I ever knew.
