Every baseball team's goal at the beginning of the season is to go to the World Series. There are many attributes that plays into into a team winning a World Series. In order for a team to win a World Series, they have to have pitching, defense, and offense. Pitching is critical for any team to succeed in the playoffs. Pitching is the biggest attribute a team can have going into the playoffs. A team that can limit the amount of runs scored by the opposing team the better chance of winning a game. For example the 2005 Astros were able to out pitch the opposing teams to get to the World Series. The 2005 Astros had one of the best pitching rotation in all of baseball at the time to led the them to World Series. Whichever team pitches better in the series has the best of winning. A strong defense is important so that a team can eliminate as many runs as possible. The best way a defense can help is by picking up their pitcher in jam. Whenever team can turn double play or make diving catch to end inning is huge for the team.
