Germany established a submarine war zone around the British Isles and said they would sink any enemy war ships that entered that proximity. Innocent American trading and merchant ships were being shot down and sunk by ruthless German warfare at sea. Germany refused to let the neutral America trade goods with their enemy countries. This dramatically impacted America because much of the American economy was controlled by trade with Britain and France, and moving forward America knew it would be impossible to keep an expanding economy without GB and France. America, despite its efforts, could not remain neutral and was forced to enter World War 1.
One in particular that really hit the Germans hard towards the would be end of WWII was the Battle of Stalingrad. During the Battle of Stalingrad Hitler’s stubbornness and hatred for Stalin served against him causing him to lose a huge portion of his army and forced him to abandon his eastern offensive. The Russian counterattack on the over ambitious German offensive at The Battle of Stalingrad trapped a bulk of the German offensive. This caused the death of about 350,000 German soldiers which was a huge blow to their army. This misstep by the Germans resulted in the destruction of German supply lines leading towards Stalingrad, leaving the Germans with no military support or food.
The Roslans are always living on the edge of povierty or just enough food to live. They go through many challenges and have to move a lot to keep Jacob safe the police and soliders come close to catching them many times the Nazis are constley killing people there wiping out a pouplation of what used to be almost 1,000,000 people.There only hope is the Russians who are supposed to come and kill the Nazis but time is ticking and they aren’t here
Stalinist Russia during the late 1930’s experienced extreme changes and suffering in all sectors of society, including the military. The weakening of Russia’s military strength under Stalin’s rule is aptly described by Mary Leder in the novel “My Life in Stalinist Russia.” “No matter what the answer may be, it is an irrefutable fact that the Soviets did not use the two-year break to build up their defenses. On the contrary, Stalin continued to undermine the army by arresting its most talented leaders. He strengthened Germany by selling it the raw materials it needed to conduct the war. [1]” Through sources such as first hand accounts like the statement above, along with in-depth textbooks, I was able to understand the linear timeline of the Red Terror, and how the Red Terror was inextricably tied to the Russian casualties and suffering in World War II.
Prejudice in World War II During World War II, Japan attacked America, but somehow that meant that every Japanese person was equally involved. The book being read, Farewell to Manzanar, was written by Jeanne Wakatsuki and her husband James D. Houston. Once World War II started, the prejudice against the Japanese became strong, especially on December 7th, 1941, when Japan decided to bomb Pearl Harbor causing the very next day to be war. For a small seven year old named Jeanne and her family, they were both surprised, and nervous. Like a large percent of the Japanese living in America, they were sent to a camp called Manzanar.
Blockades Both countries used their navies to blockade the enemy ports to stop supplies getting through. Britain relied on other countries to bring in food and supplies and Germany knew if their u-boats stopped this trade then Britain would starve. February 1915 Germany said that all merchant ships entering/leaving Britain would be sunk. This was optimistic as there were 15000 sailings a week to and from British ports and the Germans had only 21 u-boats. However by 1917 the Germans had 200 u-boats and were sinking 1 in 4 of the ships heading to Britain.
WWI and the Daily Life of all Americans After a decade of unstable alliances and military buildups, World War I was triggered in 1914 by the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. It ended in 1918 with the Treaty of Versailles. During World War I the Food and Fuel Administration, Anti- German Hysteria, and Espionage and Sedition Acts were set into a dilemma. I believe public attitudes like Anti- German Hysteria was affected the most during the war. Through out the war many Americans were in an inadequate zone.
This is one of the many influences that Alois had had on Adolf as becoming a Nazi dictator and killing an entire race. Alois had grown up without a dad and knew what it felt like, so he wanted to make sure he pushed Adolf. Alois loved his children dearly, but he didn’t want them to turn out like him, making sure of this, he beat them and pushed them, whether it was to exhaustion or to extinction. Adolf then took his anger of this out on the whole Jewish race, as the Fuehrer during the years of the holocaust. In the twelve years he took out a whole race, ninety percent of the Jewish religion in Poland, Germany, Austria, Bohemia, and Moravia.

Dehumanization is morally, socially, and intellectually stripping of a person’s rights as a human being. In the story Night, Wiesel stated, “During the genocide, Babies were thrown up into the air and the machine gunners used them as their targets. We were also made to dig huge graves and after we finished, the Germans would slaughter us into the graves.” This image would be considered a day of an eight year Holocaust and a true dehumanization to the Jewish people. The three main factors that the Germans influence on the Jewish people during the Holocaust was to disdain each other, experience a never forgetting living hell each day, and to lose faith in their God who was their most important being in every aspect of their lives.
