Human Service Scenario Analysis Chris Lee BSHS/322 April 11, 2003 Human Service Scenario Analysis Jessie is a 19 year old black young adult who currently attends a college university about 2 hours away from his home town. He has four younger siblings, two sisters and two brothers. They all live with both parents in a small city. His parents both work and are considered lower class people. They are not, by any means, poor.
According to Stanhope & Lancaster (2004), “this stage focuses on contributions to the next generation” (p. 682). The oldest and middle age daughters are in Erikson’s developmental stage of identity versus role confusion. They youngest daughter is in Erikson’s developmental stage of industry versus inferiority. REBECCA J. COLE Physician and Founder Background Information A. Rebecca J. Cole was born on March 16, 1846 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania B. Neither of her parents are known in historical records. She was the second of five children in her family; she had two sisters: Sallie and Dora and two brothers: Hamilton and Joseph. Rebecca was born into a mulatto family- her ancestry was a mix of European and African. C. All five of the children received excellent educations, allowing them to obtain work other than the domestic service or manual labor fields in which most African Americans of that time were employed.
Rosalyn was African American and lived in a house in the woods behind the owen house hold. She was not a practicing Cristian but she had a religion of her own. “her shelf ad to do with a religion she’d made up for herself, a mixture of nature and ancestor worship.” (p.29) Lily lived in a city in south Carolina. The town was divided, Black and white. The black and white people were not to associate with each other, they had their own places in the community.
She and her family live in a rural village in the African dry lands. They have extremely limited access to things such as electricity, steadily running water, emergency medical care, and formal education. Hattie on the other hand, is a European American girl born and raised in San Francisco, California, USA. Going by western standards she is of middle to upper socioeconomic status. She lives with her family in a slightly about average home located in an urban city.
