John Steinbeck uses animal imagery to express and introduce characters, events and themes in 'Of Mice and Men.' Steinbeck also uses nature, to convey events and settings in a subtle way. In section one of 'Of mice and Men' Steinbeck uses various colours to help the reader visualise the clearing as a tranquil and peaceful place. By describing the Salinas River as 'deep and green' the reader instantly envisages the water to be refreshing, mysterious and untouched. In addition, Steinbeck suggests that the clearing is full of sunlight: 'The water is warm too, for it slipped twinkling over the yellow sands.'
Having the viewer’s vantage point almost at ground level exaggerates the physical distance between them and the mountains ahead, and also invokes feelings of the grandness of such a scene. The central rock in the foreground not only provides the viewer with a position within the photograph, but also helps to move the viewer’s eye straight back across the valley. As the eye jumps from stone to stone, one then comes to the foothills between the two central peaks. The V-shape made by the mountains meeting bring the eye up to clouds of the passing storm, aided by the newly shining rays of sun. Although not the closest subject, or one that dominates most of the scene, the eyes are brought to focus here, making the storm the central focus of the work.
Fishing has already been mentioned. Waterfalls and cascades are favourite subjects of photographers. Many people, however, visit rivers merely for the purpose of enjoying the sights and sounds they find there. Wildlife often stays close to rivers, using them both for drinking water and for finding food. Tall, cool forests wind alongside rivers, and exotic flowers grow close to their edges where their roots can always be damp.
Sitting at the top of the world on soft white powder. Admiring the beauty of the magnificent mountain peaks. Anticipation now building inside, adrenaline pumping, preparing for what is soon to come. As your heart rate increases you smile at the excitement soon to come. Rising to your feet, standing on your board, carving into the side of the mountain, a refreshing breeze hits you as you make your way down the mountain.
It looked very alive with all the colorful leaves. I learned that Armstrong County is full of activities to do. Since there are a lot of trails and lakes, it is a great place to go if you are an outdoor kind of person. If I had the opportunity to go to this county, I would not pass up the chance. I would love to walk on the trails of the parks and go fishing and boating in the lakes.
You can see the colorful flowers in the two sides of path; it makes you so cheerful. There are many statues from the world religions, a
This relationship for nature is shared most ardently between these two. Sometimes they exert their love for nature subconsciously. For example, when Victor has to rid himself of the female monster ruins, he chooses a lake as the venue. Even though this is not a happy moment in his life, his love for nature is what draws him to it, regardless of the circumstances: “The lake refreshed him and filled him with agreeable sensations.” Connecting with nature not only helps to calm and
A picture perfect beauty. Much like Ansel, nature is therapeutic to me. When I am in a foul mood the best thing for me to do is to go to the river, lake, park or just take a walk, taking in the natural beauty that surrounds me and just breathe. It calms me down and makes me feel better. Although I would not have agreed with this statement ten years ago.
Wiry grasses and wild flowers stripe the rocky ledges of the alpine capped with a white covering of snow. Wilderness coastlines are scattered with driftwood as the tide rises and falls with the sun. Ancient forests soak in the rainfall and offer a lush carpet of moss and lacy ferns under a ceiling of spruce, cedar, fir, and hemlock. Adventure, solitude, peace, and beauty are just a few of the offerings that attract over four million visitors annually. The matchless trio of ecosystems provides endless opportunity for activities for every family and level of fitness, from whale watching to winter snowboarding.
On some days it is a very clear view and on others a very foggy view. It feels like you are floating on air above everything else. The scenery gives you a feeling of being free like the Golden Eagles you will encounter flying from one mountain peak to another. While driving up the steep 13 mile scenic byway to reach the top you will encounter tall trees on both sides and an abundance of wildlife enjoying the warm breezy day eating and
