The Beautiful Islands of the Bahamas Paradise is just the right word to describe the Bahamas. This unique aquatic nation is comprised of over 700 islands and 2000 cays sprinkled across the deep Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea; only 17 of the islands are inhabited. The islands of the Bahamas in which most are familiar which includes Eleuthera, Grand Bahama Island, and Nassau-Paradise Island. Each one of these has its own special qualities. One of the more favorite islands is Eleuthera. Walking through the nicely paved streets of Eleuthera, the sweet smelling aroma of freshly ripened pineapples just dances under your nostrils making your salivary glands active and just seeing all the tangy juices erupt from that golden fruit makes you want to eat it every time. Just like any other islands of the Bahamas, the crystal clear turquoise beach catches your eyes every time you pass it. There is so much to do on this lovely island called Eleuthera; from looking at admirable coral reefs to even swimming with the fishes. Eleuthera also has dark and interesting caves to explore. There is never a dull moment or even a boring time in Eleuthera. Grand Bahama Island, also known as my hometown, is the second largest island in the Bahamas. Beautiful resorts, freshly groomed and cut golf courses, aroma filled restaurants and shopping abound. It’s always amusing to just jump in car and explore the tiny local settlements that lie between West End and Freeport, which are the two big destinations on Grand Bahama. The surrounding here is a bit touristy, seeing that tourism is our number on industry, but there are many wonderful treasures lying just beyond the crowds to be discovered here.
