Title: The Amazing Rubber Egg Lab Problem: What happens when an egg is put in Vinegar, Corn Syrup, Water (Distilled)? For 3 day? Hypothesis: I think the egg will turn rubbery when placed in these three liquids. Materials: -Measuring Cup - Distilled Water -Vinegar - Cling Wrap - An Open area to conduct this experiment. - Spoon, Tongs, etc. Procedure: First we started out by measuring 1 cup of vinegar (Enough to cover egg) Then we placed the egg in the container that we were using for this part of the experiment. Secondly we let the egg sit for twenty four hours in the vinegar. Thirdly, we washed the egg off very gently, the transferred the egg from the vinegar to the corn syrup. Fourthly, we let the egg sit for twenty four hours. Then we transferred the egg from corn syrup into distilled water. Then we let egg sit for twenty four more hours. After that you can do whatever you would like to with the egg because the experiment is complete. Results (Data): Day 1: Bubbles started to form around the egg The egg started to float to the top of the container The vinegar started to soak into the egg (Displace) Day 2: There was NO bubbles. The egg started to float to the top The egg started to deform and wrinkle Day 3: The egg got very large in size. (HUGE) It was very indented and deformed.
