Assignment 1. Plan an activity in project form with specific instructions using appropriate material(s). Ans: - A project is an activity which inculcates better ideas and extends large thinking skills in children to make a particular object. It is also a fun oriented and interesting aspect in child’s education process. Children love to do the projects given by the teacher as they have an enthusiasm to show their capability in doing things which is the best part children are fond off. Children try to make their best as possible, as they want to be the best. Now coming to the planning of project, as a teacher of I standard I would choose the topic of ‘Types of Houses’. This is probably a good lesson for a project work to be given to the children. The project is an individual activity, which includes a bit of homework for the parents also. The list of houses given for a project is i) Hut ii) Tent iii) Igloo iv) Brick house v) Tree house After making the list, teacher will ask the child to pick up a chit to choose his/her project. After the child receives the project topic he/she is instructed with the type of materials that can be used to do the project. General instructions such as the date of submission of the project, procedure to do the project, how to go along with the project, whose help can be taken in completing the project and how to present the project can be given by the teacher to the students. Also children can be further motivated to complete the project by saying that the best presentation would be given a prize or will be displayed in a school science exhibition or so. Material requirement is an important aspect of a project. In this particular topic, teacher can guide the children by asking them to use common materials such as Thermocol, cloth, paints, cotton, broomsticks, dry leaves or grass, etc; so that children can think and
