It is now only found in the Southwestern part of Florida, including the Everglades and the Big Cypress Swamp. The typical habitats of these panthers are in forests and swamps, though panthers are able to adapt to many different types of habitats. The Florida Panther is very important to its habitat. The main roll of the panthers is to control the population of other animals with its hunting habits. They prevent animals (such as deer) from overpopulating the area, which can throw off other parts of the eco-system.

Usually Savannah and Black throats live about ten years but do, to poor care and bad cages they usually don’t make it more than a year in captivity. While they both need a basking spot of 130 F or more and a high elevated spot to achieve better basking. Invasive species are a large problem in the United States. Biological invasions can result in numerous harmful impacts on the environment and species. Eventually people started moving to America in hopes of catching a glimpse of the Cosa del Pantano, or “Swamp Thing.” Over the 500 years since it was first told, the story of the Swamp Thing has been transformed many times into many different versions. The Degradation of Coral Reefs There are numerous reports on coral reef degradation including the article I found called “Study finds Caribbean Corals in Dire Trouble”. Coral reefs have been called the rainforest of the oceans because of their rich diversity of life they support. There are thousands of different species of plants and animals that use or live in the coral reefs.

This beautiful and rare animal is dying out because of Devil Facial Tumour Disease, which is a common disease on the devil’s face causing a nasty tumour and infection. This disease kills 90% of adult devils in high density areas. Zoos are giving all endangered animals a chance in life by giving them shelter, food and treatments.
