She stands up for what she believes in and faces the punishment that she doesn't deserve. Creon wants Antigone and her sister to die because he is afraid they are going to steal the thrown from him, but in the end everything turns to the worst. Antigone dies with a clean conscience after burying her brother even though she knew she would die. Antigone was born into the royal family.
Sethe was once a former slave of a place called “Sweethome”. She was a mother of four children, however she was forced to kill her new born baby daughter and attempted to kill her other children. She did not feel much guilt because she knew it was the best thing to do at the time and the only way out. Years later, Beloved, the reincarnation of Sethe’s murdered daughter appeared out of the lake. In the first story the wife had cheated on the husband and ran away with her two daughters. One was just a baby, the other was a 9 year old wearing a red shawl. No one had seen what exactly happened when she left. The husband had created a story in his own head how “Aanakwad had thrown her daughter to them (the wolves)” when he had found the red shawl covered in blood (Erdrich 2). It was not long after Beowulf defeated Grendel, when his swamp-hag mother came from the depths of the swamp to Heorot seeking retaliation. In revenge, Grendel's mother killed one of King Hrothgar's main advisors, Aeschere. Beowulf then followed her back to her underwater lair to battle.
