I have done things due to a group that I know I would never do if I were by myself. A time I have done this was during my freshman year in high school. High school is a big change from middle school. One change I encountered was going out to parties and socializing more. I used to be very quiet but the minute high school came I became a social butterfly and would go out constantly. I never did anything bad I just went for the fun and took care of friends that got a little too much that night. So one night my closest friends and I decided to have a slumber party and it seemed like a normal night but it took a turn for the worst. When my friend worked at a clothing store, he told me that whenever an African American walked in that he would have to follow them around but not if a white person walked in. Even when he wasn’t working and we would go shopping he would look around and if an African American walked in he would still keep a close eye. I do not believe we are free from prejudice. Even if you do not realize it there is prejudice all around us. On TV shows you can see some type of prejudice and in movies. A main form of prejudice is bullying. A lot of the time people make fun of the nerdy kids or the bigger kids because they see it as funny. I myself am not prejudice free because I meet people every day and make assumptions of how they are based on their appearance. I don’t do it in a mean way it is just how I am I try to guess what kind of person they are and sometimes I am wrong. I believe keeping an open mind is very important. By keeping an
