In my opinion studying literature and history is as important as science and mathematics, since each of them can play an important role in our lives. On the one hand, studying mathematics and science equips us with essential skills both in scientific and non-scientific areas. We learn calculation and mathematical equations which are essential parts of our daily lives. For instance, when we go to a grocery store, we can do the simple calculation and get to know how much money we are supposed to pay. In this way, nobody can cheat us. Besides, mathematics is more than a matter of simple calculation; it involves analyzing data and leads us to become good problem solvers. On the other hand, subjects such as literature or history, give us other information. When we study literature, we get to know many famous poets, writers and the way they express their emotions, or the way they play with words to convey important issues in their societies. We also learn how to read and write, and consequently how to communicate better with the people around us. In addition, history can also teach us many things about the way people used to live earlier. We can get to know more about our ancestors and the history of our country, or the relationships of our country with other countries. We can also learn from the mistakes of others. As we know, we cannot always experience everything. By reading history books, we can learn from those pitfalls that happened before and try not to repeat them. Moreover, learning subjects like science and mathematics all the time, may constitute to boredom. We sometimes need to study other materials to refresh ourselves. For example, after studying mathematics and dealing with numbers, we can pick up a history book or read a poem, which I think can rejuvenate us and teach us other lessons of life.
