Effective missionaries are lifelong learners of culture, working to understand where their people currently are so they can lead them to a true, yet truly enculturated, understanding of the grace and truth of Jesus Christ. They understand that the core of the Good News can come wrapped in different packages and expressions. That is all to say, this book by Reggie McNeal resonates with my passion for people with a missional faith. That we should be more missional. To survive as a church in this modern western world, we need a huge paradigm shift of being missional.
Are you leading by the “Strength of Your Character”? The worship pastor commented that he is trying to lead by the strength of character, for certain. He feels whether he does or not will be revealed in the future when his time has ended. Integrity, he notes, is a very important character to obtain. It is a goal not only in ministry but, even more importantly, at home and in every aspect of life.
“Our faith has important things to say about the whole of human life” (Nash, 1992, 20). It would be wise and beneficial for every Christian to understand truly what they stand for and “…Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have…” (I Peter 3:15). Our Christian worldview gives us the confidence to share what we believe through word and
A COMPARISON PAPER: CRABB’S EFFECTIVE BIBLICAL COUNSELING Dr. Larry Crabb believes that “God has ordained the local church to be His primary instrument to tend to his people's aches and pains.” He lays out a counseling plan for the local church to use in his book, Effective Biblical Counseling: A Model for Helping Caring Christians Become Capable Counselors (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 1977). In this standard textbook for Christian counselors, he reminds us that people “will never be happy if [they are] concerned primarily with becoming happy (Crabb, page 22).” The real goal of life and thus the path of happiness is glorifying God and serving others. SUMMARY: The author’s theory/methodology 1. Primary goal (What is the desired outcome?) Dr. Crabb shares that the biblical goal of counseling goals should be to help people move over to the path of righteousness (Crabb, 28); and help them move up in their maturity to be like Christ (Crabb, 29).

It is with great importance that I continue to grow and learn as I walk my spiritual path. Attaining all that I possibly can through my education and being able to be a vessel to assist others. I must strengthen my theological background as I continue with life, this is necessary for me if I want to be a good shepherd and counselor. God has placed me at this point for a reason, and I believe that is to grow closer to Him. * Action If I was speaking with a friend, I would most definitely tell them to keep God at the forefront of their lives.
I believe in the faith of the Lord and that I will have eternal life. I believe that it impacts me in the way that I run into troubles in my life and the faith of higher power to assist me through it and give me strength to continue on to challenge more battles and triumphs along the way. My personal worldview gives me the emphasis to encourage others to choose a faith and a worldview plan to follow and guide them and help them through their lives. In one aspect I choose to be a teacher of Special Education children. I enjoy the fact that learning in a Christian aspect gives me more of an emphasis on how to have a more in depth understanding of learning the knowledge based behind their disabilities.
Bible Study, Prayer, Christian Therapy Of course a Christian rehab offers more than simply a few substituted words, and through group prayer, bible study and religious counseling; Christians can take strength and solace in the word of God as they work towards a better future of sobriety. Christian rehab or recovery treats addiction as a fundamentally spiritual problem, requiring of a spiritual solution, and through Faith, prayer and a study of God's message, Christians are left with powerfully resonant tools against temptation and continuing abuse. With the love of Jesus Christ and with the fellowship of other Christians, working the Christian 12 steps to recovery offers the Faithful far more than any conventional and secular rehab ever could. AA has the big book, and it sure has helped a lot of people; but not so many as the Big Book used in a Christian rehab! THE BIBLE SAYS; Acts
Belief is a clambering for everyone just like for Equiano. As he finally became Christian - because he was told that this is the only way to go to Heaven – he reached his spiritual liberation, his spiritual conversion. Reading the Bible was a good aim for this conversion. And the mixture of knowledge and faith always rewards you with self-fulfillment you are always able to become the desired person who you want to
A sign-up sheet can be utilized with the the emphasis that people need to not see it as just another thing to do but will be intentional in praying. The purpose of this team will be to pray for the needs of the church. This will in turn revitalize the church. In What Every Pastor Should Know it reads, “Praying for others is a great way to enhance the spiritual maturity of your corporate body and individual members” (McIntosh, et al. 234).
