As the Skype call connects and the face of Lizzie appears I am not really shocked by her looks. She has long blond hair straightened to perfection, with not one hair outta place. She is wearing a t-shirt stitched with her sorority’s letters on them. Behind her a cream colored wall filled with black and white prints of Paris. In-between every couple of prints are block letters with E V F in black and white with patterns. A twin size bed rested against the opposing wall with a completely opposite color scheme the blankets having bright colors and crazy patterns. One thing that remained the same was the fact that the sorority’s letters were stitched into the blanket with a monogram. She must have noticed my reaction because she laughed a light hearted laugh and told me she understood that it was a lot to take in. She then told me she shared the room with two other girls so all the different personalities had to mesh into one room. “That’s one reason I joined sorority,” Lizzie smiled while saying, “I was a long way from home,…show more content…
Not many want to subject themselves to that kind of behaviors. Lizzie said they frequently have girls come through who have a general fear of being hazed. “I am very honest with girls who have fears,” Lizzie stated, “ I would let her know that we don’t haze and what our hazing policy is and too reassure her that if we did haze I personally would not be standing here.” Lizzie’s confidence in making sure that everyone feels comfortable during recruitment and in the organization itself is admirable. She has no problem talking to people about the subject matter either, saying that “even if the parents have questions or concerns I will gladly speak with them and if talking with me doesn’t put them at ease then we have our chapter advisor and even women at our national headquarters who can possibly give them a better
