The obvious examples in the past were when police officers have a power to arrest with ‘sus’ laws, under the 1824 Vagrancy Act (s4 and s6). Many people saw and ethnic minorities felt the abuse of this practice. Police officer stop and search and arrest people based on ‘intent to commit an arrestable offence’ for people grouping in public area. To see these benefits, the focus needs to remain on benefiting the community at large and meeting the needs of each individual location. Crime can be reduced within the store by helping provide for the community and offering opportunities to help people work their way off the streets. Consumer spending can be increased by meeting the demands of the area while helping those who cannot afford to spend money on the goods the company sells. Any company would be wise to remember that quite often it is the poor who succeed later in life and become a company’s biggest investors. A focus on those in need is something that helps a company’s reputation for years to come, boosting profits in both the poorest neighborhoods and the wealthiest.

Organisations like Caritas and St Vincent De Paul have realised that to be a good Christian, Muslim, or Jewish person you must also help others and not expect anything in return. “One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the LORD, And He will repay him for his good deed”. In conclusion, Australia has freedom today because of the guidance and influence that religion has had on our society and individuals. It has taught us to seek purpose in life, gives us comfort, gives answers to the unexpected and provides the framework for a person’s life. Therefore, I compel you to continue your support of religions in Australia, as they have contributed gallantly to society and individuals and have compelled us to “ihsan” (realise) “amen” (believe), “amal” (hope) and “tfgl” (act) in the right and just

In this way, the Reverend places his mission of preaching freedom alongside the efforts of the prophets of old in terms of importance, and thus invites the reader to reflect upon the noble task he is undertaking. Because religion is so widely regarded as a sacred concept that should never be challenged, King’s comparison of religion to freedom is highly effective in convincing the reader that injustices committed upon a person’s freedom are not to be tolerated. King also covers the need for a more secular point of view by creating parallels between himself and Socrates, stating, “Just as Socrates felt that it was necessary to create
