Social, economics and cultural factors That impact on the lives of children and young people | |Personal choice Some families decide that they do not wish to live or act in a way which is viewed as outside the ' social norm ', for example being travellers or a child having same genders parents. The outcomes of these factors are that there are people who may not be able to relate to the child or young persons family views. If a Child is from a travelling family there is a possibility that their development at school may be delayed due to being transferred from school to school or not attending school on a regular basis. Poverty Families that live in poverty are more likely to suffer mental and physical problems and therefore may not be able to provide for their child as is required, accommodation will be poor due to lack of funds to pay the rent and provide furnishings. Housing and community There can be a negative affect on children’s development if they have poor quality housing or cramped conditions. Families can become isolated if they live in a community where children have challenging anti-social behaviours, as it can make them unwilling to let their child play in the community. Health facilities and education can be tricky to access if transport is limited due to families having to live in rural communities. Educational Environment [pic] A non-regulated educational facility may create an environment for a child that does not meet the child’s needs, thus stunting a child’s developmental potential. Offending or Anti Social Behaviour Some families that display offending or challenging anti social behaviour may end up with their children being taken into care. Health Status of self or family member A child with poor health, that receives support at home and in education may need their support adjusted to meet their needs. Parents that rely on
