There are lots of safety benefits if you take the VTA instead of driving your own car. According to FTA, the data shows that between 2003 and 2008 taking the public transit was the safest way to travel with an average 0.05 deaths per 100 million passenger miles comparing to car passenger deaths which are 1.42 per 100 million passengers. Moreove, VTA has a nightstop program, so after evening peak hours untill the morning rush a VTA bus operator can stop at a location that is closer to your final destination so passengers are in less danger while walking to the final destination. Also, you don’t have to deal with the parking which is probably the biggest problem in our city. Speaking of parking, do you know how much does it cost to have a parking lot for a semester?
A new age of iPods are not causing humans to become less socially active, they are actually helping people stay in touch even easier. Sullivans’ essay starts off with him talking about how the nightlife in New York City is dead. This is an opinion and has no relevance to people listening to iPods too much. Later in the article Sullivan goes on to say, “Yes, I might as well own up to it. I’m one of them.
I have created this essay in an attempt to not only inform others, but find more answers. Lately I have been speculating theories about my friend named Dean Willis. Now, to the general public Dean seems like a fairly normal human being, rather cynical and quite a smart-ass, yet still a fairly normal human being. This is all well and good until a closer inspection of Dean is taken. Firstly I would like to point out that I am not certain that Dean is in fact the Messiah, these are merely theories and hypothesis.
But In 1987 gay marriage was not being thought of, there was no place in America where homosexuals could marry, this gave Jerry more ease in being adamantly opposed to this AIDS positive homosexual who moved home to die. Jerry’s views on the subject where imbedded in him from his upbringing, but that does not make them right. Jerry’s views are an excellent example of home grown
Web. 29 Aug. 2011. In this blog post, the author tells his story of when he received a red light ticket from a camera while driving through Knoxville and wrote a letter to the mayor about it. Billo argues that "Study after study has shown that they increase, rather than decrease, accidents." He also states that “red light cameras serve no purpose other than extorting more revenue from citizens — at the cost of their safety.” In Billo's letter, he says he refuses to spend money in Knoxville whenever he's there in reaction to his ticket because, as he sees it, he "wasn’t really breaking the law."

Mark Bauerline says “You guys don’t know anything” to today’s generation but because we don’t have to search in library for books or articles that we can view online does that make us incompetent or unable to comprehend them? No, it just means we have resources that save us time of hours of searching. College has not gotten easier to get into let alone afford but teens in this generation are holding 5.0 GPA’s and getting accepted to numerous ivy leagues with scholarships. Our minds are neither narrow nor dumb. Every generation has flaws and ours maybe the lack of motivation due to technology but with this flaw it allows us to excel becoming more intelligent and opening our minds to realms not even thought of.
He employed a contextual constructionist approach which allowed him to not be strictly subjective in his analysis but permitting some amount of objective observations to be made about the process. References were made to the pro-squeegee rhetoric but it was not explored as it was not the focus of the article. The author aims to highlight claims-making activity/process which influences the view we have of the
According to statistics it is said that there has been a decrease in drunk driving since back in the older days. Today if you don’t believe that you should get behind the wheel you can call a drunk bus that is absolutely free that will pick you up and take you wherever you need to go. The "dunk bus" as people call it is driven by retired police officers that are trying to make the town as safe as possible. When attending parties now, people figure out someone that they can use to be there "DD" which is a designated driver. The DD is someone that will stay sober and will be the driver at the end of the night so no one has to worry about being drunk and risking having to be behind the wheel.
