Children are so used television entertaining them that they expect the teachers to entertain them the same way, so they are unable to learn as they would without television. The Healing Myth: Rocky In Linda Seger’s essay “Creating a Myth” she explains that everyone will experience a universal story. Seger means that all people will share the life journey of growth, development, and transformation. The universal stories normally involve the search of a perfect mate, coming home, the search for fulfillment, going after an ideal, achieving the dream, or hunting for precious treasure. All of which are the stories that create a successful film in today’s culture. As the reader might notice next time they are watching a film that the “hero” of the movie is someone that they can relate to because they recognize the story as having some connection with their own lives.
My Recommendation for this book is… I would highly recommend this book to anyone because it has something that anyone can relate too. Like events that would of happened to them throughout their school years or even there adult
Mr. Ross’ class made The Wave more powerful because everyone joined it and people thought it was the “right” thing to do. Both stories share a theme topic but have different messages. Fist Stick Knife Gun by Geoffrey Canada and “The Wave” by Morton Rhue both share the theme topic of influence. Teenagers can easily be persuaded into thinking something by the peers around them. “He who influences the thought of his times influences the times that follow” (Elbert Hubbard).
I think that companies benefit greatly off of fads because they are a never ending way for people to express themselves. I think fads are a great way for people to experiment with the person that they are. Fads are typically done by individuals who younger and trying to find the person that they are. Because fads are never ending, it will be interesting to see how the world develops for years to come. It is good for social groups and communities to experience different fads, because it shows people how to deal with change.

Including Akon, who signed her, Elton John, Cher, Nicki Minaj, and multiple singles with Beyoncé. All of Lady Gaga’s music has a strong meaning. Whether it’s just to have fun with life, or accepting who you are, or even a song full of regret. It’s always turns out to be something powerful. It’s not all about one thing, which I feel is very important to listeners nowadays.
The Respect and Pride of Language The world is filled with people of many different origins, roots, and backgrounds. Accordingly, the world knows of numerous different languages. Some languages have evolved to become more popular and more widespread in use than others, and some even gain a higher sense of status than others. In Anzaldua’s piece, “How to Tame a Wild Tongue,” Anzaldua, by using her own Chicano background as an example, argues that it is of utmost importance that any individual be proud and supportive of their individual language no matter how unpopular it is, because a person’s primary language serves a large role in defining their personal identity. In the introduction of Anzaldua’s piece, Anzaldua uses the example of a physical tongue that cannot be controlled by the dentist during a dental operation to help convey the fact that it is impossible to suppress one’s native language.
“The World’s Fastest Indian” (2005) is an insightful movie directed by the world renowned director, Roger Donaldson. A character I enjoyed in this film was Burt Munro. I enjoyed this character because of his high, uplifting spirit of determinat ion. Burt Munro is important because he reveals the ideas of ‘Manawanui (Perseverance),’ ‘Realising Your Dreams’ and ‘Overcoming Obstacles.’ These ideas are seen through the film techniques: dialogue, lighting and types of camera shots and angles. Burt Munro is a character I enjoyed because of his total dedication and wholeheartedness towards his dreams, living a day at a time.
