Macbeth seizes power by force. Also, Macbeth brings chaos and destruction to Scotland (his homeland). Therefore, Malcolm makes a subjective comment on the Macbeths that they are "butcher" and "fiend-like queen". However, it contains some truth in it. Macbeth did murder Duncan and Banquo.

Right away she came up with the idea of killing the king. She talked Macbeth into stabbing the King that night and he did just this. He still had the daggers in his hand and this was going to get him caught so Lady Macbeth took the daggers and placed them back by the king leaving both her and Macbeths hands bloody. In literature, the actions that characters commit have serious effects. Shakespeare’s play Macbeth displays acts of killing and betrayal. Macbeth’s obsession with power and fear of death leads him to commit actions that neither he nor his mind can control. What he does cannot be the effect of one person but that of what many people have contributed to. These actions sprout from the seeds of others, seeds that others plant, seeds that manipulate his mind into taking drastic measures.

I believe that Lady Macbeth should be held more responsible for the murder of Duncan than Macbeth because she went out of her way to convince Macbeth to kill him, then covered it up, and felt guilty and received karma for what she did. Although he agreed to actually murdering the king, if it wasn’t for lady Macbeths intentions Macbeth would have not gone through with the plan.
