Health Care Administration We have come to the end of this Foundations of Healthcare Administration course. This course has been both challenging and rewarding. Also, during this course we have learned several ideas and concepts related to administration and the course as a whole. The ideas and concepts relates to becoming a scholar practitioner, academic integrity, challenges as student ,as an administrator and competencies required for an effective health care administrator. First of all, it is important to know the meaning of a scholar practitioner. The practitioner–scholar model, often called the Vail model, is a training model for graduate programs that is focused on clinical practice (www.wikipedia.org). It was developed primarily to train clinical psychologists, but has been adapted by other specialty programs such as business, public health, and law. According to this model, a psychologist is a scholar, a consumer of research, and a highly trained professional practitioner who applies knowledge and techniques to solve problems of clients (Practitioner–scholar model.
