My family were religious and I got a bit of stick for this at school which I must admit didn't help but it wasn't the religions fault it was the cruel bigoted kids. But I decided at the age of 16 I wanted to venture into the world without religion and although it caused my family much heartache I left to do the things I wanted to. A perfect example would be my mother who is one of five kids in her family, where in my family unit there is only my brother and I. With my mother’s generation siblings were all closer and “hung out” with each other more often. My brother and I are close, but it is not the same as it used to be. The root cause I think, in the change of children over time stems from how parents have changed over time.
