My mother and father raised me to have respect for myself and everyone that I come into contact with. My high school career is where I began to grow into my own separate from my parents. The jobs that I held helped me to know what I did and did not want to do with my life. While I may not have loved every minute of my life I would not change any of it, because the mistakes that I have made and the things that I have done have taught me certain things about myself that I my otherwise not have learned. My family is a normal loving dysfunctional family. I had the privilege to grow up with both of my parents in my home. My family is very loud and can be very obnoxious. One of our neighbors made a handmade sign to go above our front door which when I saw it for the first time I thought it was funny and a very appropriate description of the Nixon family, the sign simply said “Nixon’s Nuthouse”. I am the youngest of five children. My Mother had two children from a previous marriage, my oldest brother John and my oldest sister Nena. My father also had a child before he met my mother, my brother Joseph after my father but we all call him (Joey). I would always try to find places where I could be alone with my thoughts. My high school was pretty big so I would always be able to find a quite place to read, do homework, or to just breathe. I myself only had a hand full of friends whereas my twin sister Margaux was friends with just about everyone in our 1998 class and the class of 1997. Since my sister and I look so much a like many people tend to fall under the assumption that we have the same personality which could not be farther from the truth. Although there are certain things that are the same between us, we as people are very different. Margaux cared more about the arts and I was more interested in books and learning. I was a very ambitious teenager; I would compete with a fellow classmate for the best grade on tests, quizzes, and the overall class
