Elaine was proudly coached by Peter Burrows and Marylynn Gelderman throughout her amateur and professional career. She was one of the first woman to land many triple jumps in her programs. In fact, Elaine landed six triple jumps to win the world championship title in 1982(Ryan, Joan). In addition, Zayak was apart of the first trip to China by American Skaters for a competition. There was a Zayak rule, inacted at the 1982 ISU Congress, which states that many not perform the same kind of jump more than twice, and for it to be given full credit on both occasions, one of the two triples must be incorporated into a combination or sequence(Farris, JoAnn Schneider).

Interview Paper Proposal The person I want to interview is a nineteen year old girl named Andrecia MIller she’s an amateur boxer who was number 1 in the world in the weight class of 152lb, and is currently training for the Olympic tryouts. The reason I’ve chosen to interview her is to show that there’s more beneath the surface then people actually realize about her. There are things before her success that has haunted her daily life, but keeps her determined at the same time. This young woman has faced being taken out of her mother’s custody at an early age along with her other siblings, being placed inside of foster care, and to struggling with homosexuality. Marion Jones was a track and field star, who was adored by legions of young female fans and athletes who viewed her as a role model of what women athletes could do for the sports world. Jones a former world champion track and field athlete won five gold medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Equality in the available sports is one thing, but in many countries women do not have equal rights to participate in sports and the opportunity to participate in the Olympic Games. Prior to the 2012 Olympics in London, three Muslim countries have never before sent a female athlete: Qatar, Brunei, and Saudi Arabia.
