After completing this it will be evident that Romeo, Friar Lawrence and love are all to blame. Firstly, Romeo is banished from Verona for killing Tybalt, a Capulet, because Tybalt killed Romeo’s best friend Mercutio. This led to Romeo not hearing about the plan to fake Juliet’s death so that she did not have to marry Paris. When Romeo heard she was dead he killed himself, then Juliet awoke and found Romeo dead and killed herself. “Tybalt is gone, and Romeo banished; Romeo that killed him, he is banished.” This quote is saying that Romeo killed Tybalt and is now banished because of it.
The blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet rest ultimately with Friar Lawrence. Do you agree? Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet was a tragedy about two lovers whose destiny resided death. The passing of the “star-crossed” lovers is partly the fault of Friar Lawrence, whose actions result in the tragedy. After Juliet was in a desperate state of mind, the friar proposed an undeniably flawed plan, and also failing to notify Romeo of said plan, thus leading to Romeo’s death.
The Friar helps Juliet fake her death and fool her parents. Although the Friar's intentions were good, the end resulted badly because he thought that if Romeo and Juliet were married, it might help to reunite the two families. "Till holy church incorporate two in one." The Nurse is
“So excellent a king.” (Act 1, Scene 11, Line 149) this proves how much he wanted to be like him. Hamlet’s mother marriage with King Claudius, makes Hamlet upset because King Claudius was his father’s brother. “ Upon my secure hour thy uncle stole With juice of cursed hebona in a vial.” ( Act 1, Scene 5, Lines 61-62) Hamlet finds out that Claudius killed his father to take the throne when he talked with his father’s ghost. This gave reason to Hamlet to avenge his father’s death. Hamlet makes his first move against King Claudius by telling the actors to play a tragic play by which he can see King Claudius’s reaction.
She asks why Romeo killed her cousin, calling him a villain, but realises Tybalt’s death is less significant and she grants Romeo the license to kill her cousin when she realises that her cousin would have killed Romeo had he not been killed instead. It begins to give her comfort, excusing the murder of Tybalt. It is at this point that Juliet becomes a wife first and a daughter, cousin and Capulet second. This is concept is reinforced further into the monologue, when Juliet says “Tybalt is dead, and Romeo—banished. That ‘banished,’ that one word ‘ banished’, Hath slain ten thousand Tybalts” which means that Juliet would rather Tybalt die 10 000 deaths then have Romeo banished.
They decided to get married after their “love fest” in the garden, and this is where their adventure began. The first archetype I have chosen for Romeo was a rebel. Romeo fits this archetype because he is inclined to resist authority and the authority that he is going against is his families’ laws. Romeo is courting Juliet discreetly behind their families back. Romeo is not supposed to have any dealings with her, yet he still fights for love.
The marriage was too rushed and secretive. The biggest thing Friar Lawrence did to cause all of the tragedy was when he agreed to give Juliet the sleeping potion. This caused Romeo to think she was dead, so he killed himself for her, and once she woke up and found he was
When he first met Juliet, he seemed to have forgotten about Rosaline Thinking Juliet was dead, Romeo thought that his only option was to take his life out of grief for Juliet. His impatience resulted in the death of Paris, himself and Juliet. In Romeo and Juliet's naive minds, suicide was the only answer to their problems. In Juliet's case she had other options but she choose to overlook. Romeo and Juliet's innocence show us that jumping into situations too fast can cause big problems.
Friar Lawrence, in this play, helps Romeo to fulfill his desires of marrying Juliet and always has good intentions for Romeo. In the second act, Romeo was in a hurry to marry Juliet, and he pleads with the Friar to conduct their marriage as Romeo was in "haste". Friar Lawrence agrees to this plea, in the hope that the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues would end and that the marriage will bring the families to make peace with each other. However, his intentions are destroyed when Romeo and Juliet commit suicide for each other and die because of their sworn love for each other. This is because in the play, Juliet refused to marry Paris and so the Friar offers his help again and gives her a special potion that makes her appear dead.
Lord Capulet essentially endorsed Juliet’s relationship with Romeo without even knowing it. The quarrel between the families caused them to lose their progenies. The deaths of beloved Romeo and Juliet were due to the, “Capulet[‘s and] Montague[‘s], [...] hate, that Heaven [found] means to kill [their] joys with love!” (V.3.315-317) The dispute between the Capulet’s and the Montague’s made Romeo and Juliet’s love less achievable; their love was quite tenacious that they killed themselves to be together. In an acute argument between Juliet and her father, Lord Capulet demanded that she was to, “go with Paris to Saint Peter’s Church or [he would] drag [Juliet] on a hurdle thither” (III.5.173-174). Lord Capulet was in dismay when Juliet repudiated marrying Paris, that she only longed for true love.
