Obama explained how he wanted to make sure that young women are going to be able to compete in the market place. Meanwhile, Romney wants not only men but women to be qualified for his cabinet. For example, Obama mentioned how he was race by a single mom and how her grandmother trained people who would end up becoming her
The “Great Retreat” was the abandonment of the new communist lifestyle brought in when the Bolsheviks took power, in favour of more traditional gender roles and sexual attitudes. There is great debate over whether this turn can be regarded as a “great retreat”. The amount of women employed in industrial labour increased by 10 million from1928 to 1940, 41 percent of workers in heavy industry were women and in some cities women were over half the workforce. Pasha Angelica gained national fame as the organiser of the first women’s tractor brigade. Maria Demchanko was made famous due to her pledge to harvest four times the average yield of sugar beet.
Document 3: Excerpt from the Seneca Falls Convention: Declaration of Sentiments adopted in 1848 1) Identify two main complaints stated in the Declaration of Sentiments. After women become married, their husband holds all their rights, a right to an education, voting, getting a job. If women earn money- the men get to take it and she is taken from her rights to own property. Document 4: Cartoon 1) According to the cartoon, how would women’s suffrage affect society? Women would be free to do what they want, and it seems that the men would have taken the women’s roll and stayed home to watch the children and to do house chores.
The Axis powers, on the other hand, were slow to employ women in their war industries. Hitler derided Americans as degenerate for putting their women to work. The role of German women, he said, was to be good wives and mothers and to have more babies for the Third Reich. When the war began, quickie marriages became the norm, as teenagers married their sweethearts before their men went overseas. As the men fought abroad, women on the Home Front worked in defense plants and volunteered for war-related organizations, in addition to managing their households.
Over the years women have fought long and hard to be able to obtain and maintain legal rights and privileges that the male gender is born into. Females were molded and primed to play the part as an obedient wife and mother with instruction that your thoughts and opinions are kept to yourself. The perseverance of brave women helped today’s generation of women such as myself have the same equal rights as that of men. With all things you must have a burning passion in the pit of your belly to want to advance and defeat the injustice of this world. In order to put laws into effect there must be a group of people who all agree that new laws should be implemented because of majority vote.
All the black women workers were being replaced with white women workers. Prior to the depression no women had employment but now the women are going out seeking for employment. In this address, Roosevelt had told all the Citizens of the United States that, “This great Nation will endure, as it has endured, will revive and will prosper.”(79) With this stated, the president came up with the New Deal; it was a plan to help those in need right away, pull the U.S. out of the depression, and to ensure that this would never happen again.
Stanton helped to organize the National Women's Suffrage Association (NWSA), which aimed to overcome gender inequality by encouraging the need for women's rights. Stanton was brought up well educated but concentrated on women’s rights. She used this ethical position as an activist along with her husband to put into the Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions everything she had learned about how women were being treated all around the United States. For instance, “He has denied her the facilities for obtaining a thorough education, all colleges being closed against her.” In the Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions read on the first day, Stanton used pathos with a tough tone toward an audience of 200 women to provoke rage and aggression. She showed us pathos when she stated "that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights."
When Eggers tone isn’t adoring it can be very condescending of others. This shows through mostly when he is comparing his family consisting of Toph and himself to other more “traditional” families. He refers to himself and Toph as the model family, the new and better version even. He puts down other families’ ways of running their households and raising their kids while boasting about how wonderful he and Toph are. Eggers is very determined to make sure of this.

Adolf Hitler, the creator of the fascist and Nazi party, promised to lower the unemployment rate during this period of time. He then committed to his word and made more jobs for people by having them build buildings, homes and even bridges. The United States had passed the Dawes Act three years before World War I began, which allowed us to help out foreign countries by having them borrow money from us to fix their economy.
