Throughout the earlier elements of rock can be heard in country records more or less around the 1930s.Also in blues records of the 1920s. Rock and roll obtained its name until the 1950s. The phrase rock and roll now has at least two different meanings in which both meaning are used commonly. The Beatles were known as Americans Brittan invasion. Rock and roll has impacted our culture some say that the genre has helped with the civil rights movement because both African American teens and white American teens both enjoyed the genre of rock and roll. A myriad of early rock and roll songs dealt with issues of school, dating ,cars , and clothing the lyrics of the genre described a story with conflicts that the average person back then can relate too. Other topics that were considered “Taboo” such as sex began to be introduced to rock and roll. Taboo was considered that new music that tried to break the rules and express the emotions that younger people were feeling. Rock and roll has a mixture of white and black performers, Historians claimed that rock and roll was one of the first music genres to define a specific age group , it gave teenagers the feel of belonging yet like they weren’t the only ones who felt that certain way like they’re others that know how you feel about a certain subject and that they can relate to those lyrics. He had a versatile voice and unusually wide success in many genres. Another big influence to rock and roll is the Beatles probably the most well-known English rock band formed in Liverpool in the 1960s. They became the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed act in the rock music era. The members of the Beatles are John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Star. They had more number-one albums on British charts and sold more singles in the UK than any other group in the rock era. “According to the RIAA, as of 2012 the Beatles have sold 177 million units in the US, more than any other artist” In 2008, the group topped Billboard magazine's list of the all-time most successful "Hot 100" artists.
