Critique: The NFL’s crisis management is downright atrocious. The pure failure of signal detection is what not only caused this game’s outcome from happening but the referee lockout as well. It’s even worse because their crisis management plan should have used the player’s lockout as a reference to prevent the referee lockout. The only thing I think the NFL did correctly in their crisis management is the quickness it took for them to respond to the immediate outrage of fans due to the Packers/Seahawks outcome. The NFL didn’t waste any time in stating that they will be backing up the decision made by the replacement referees however I must ask where that quickness was when the referee’s contract
Individuals, coaches, and clubs, have brought equal protection claims against many institutions having selfishly destroyed men’s teams, but courts seem to be reluctant. For a valid equal protection claim (EPC), "a plaintiff must allege in the pleadings that the government intentionally discriminated against [them] by classifying him or her for different treatment under the law than one similarly situated" (Bentley pg. 9). This notion seems to be paradoxical, having courts decisions endorsing the elimination of men’s games. There is a continuing rejection of court cases involving the violations of Title IX using the EPC method, proving that reform is necessary.
Selfless service means not making decisions that hurt the team but help you. In Hayes case, by throwing the punching he became selfish because he threw away his career which ultimately hurt OSU’s football program image and left them coach less. If he had chosen not to throw the punch he would have given up his self interest for the good of the team and they could have continued to keep winning national
He did apologize and adultery in this Country is not a criminal offense. The people he hurt emotionally were his family members and not part of the companies that he endorsed so what reason would they have to dump him. What Tiger Woods did to the companies though was hurt their image and bring discredit upon the brands that he represented. I believe that they were well within their right to dismiss him and that it was the right thing to do for the greater good of the company. Tiger’s actions off of the golf course were scandalous and hurt every company that sponsored him.
So since it has been discovered all we have heard about is that the superstar Patriot quarterback is being accused of being dishonest for using deflated footballs because they are easier to grip and catch in order to win their way to the super bowl. In the article Mike Downey talks about this as well as questioning what about the former New England past catcher who has been charged with cold blooded murder and is about to stand trial for it and let’s not forget about the things that the football team members that have done that are so much worse than this possible infraction. Are we to praise these men for getting to the super bowl or scorn them for getting here by cheating their way to the almighty achievement? The author Mike Downey continues to talk about the amounts of money that several teams and members of teams have been fined over the years for the behaviors that have been deemed unacceptable ranging from 20,000 upwards to 500,000 but that never seems cease the behaviors they just seem to continue on with the hopes of not getting caught. In the end he proclaims why they can’t just play football.
John Q. used some violence on his hostages in the attempt to help his son get the heart transplant. (Letter to Birmingham; page 214, paragraph 9) Nonviolent direct action seeks to create such a crisis and foster such a tension that a community which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue. Martin Luther King Jr. would also see that it was unjust for the hospital to release Michael knowing that he would die without proper care. I truly believe that in this movie John Q’s actions were those of one whom was taught to protect their family no matter what. Morally, John’s actions are justifiable.
Why did people not want to serve their country? Some thought the war was unfair and others believed that the U.S. was the aggressor in the conflict. Some simply didn't want to put their life on the line in the military at war.“On the Rainy River” weighs the guilt of avoiding the draft against the guilt of committing atrocities against other humans.Upon receipt of the draft, Tim is faced with a conflict, a “moral emergency” as he describes it. Tim describes what most people think they would do in the case of such a “moral emergency”;“All of us, I suppose, like to believe that in a moral emergency we will behave like the heroes of our youth, bravely and forthrightly, without thought or personal loss or discredit” (pg.70).The only way that he can avoid his guilt is by taking a course of action that will make him feel guilty anyways. If he goes to war, he will feel guilty for ignoring his own objection to United States involvement in the Vietnam War, but the only way to avoid this guilt is by gaining the disapproval of his community, which will result in shame There are a number of reasons as to why Tim withheld sharing his story of how he dodged the draft, but they all stem from one very basic human
It is understood that there has been a number of head and neck injuries but that is part of the risk one takes when they decide they are going to put that chin strap on. If you’re tough enough to play ball at the college level, then I’m sure no one has forced you to play. Certain hits are costing teams’ big plays or maybe even games, due to the penalties that occur following these hits. These hits are even costing the players big money out of their salaries. These rules are ruining the fun in football.
John De Lord Crime articles explained using AS Psychology Men given football game ban over Glasgow 'severed ear brawl' We can use this event to be backed up by Social Psychology, through both prejudice and obedience. The Agency Theory would suggest that each side may have followed orders of an authority figure. For example ‘Glasgow Rangers’ fans may have been ordered by the authority figure to attack the opposition. Originally they were in the autonomous state, acting on their own behalf whereby they may not have even thought about violence. But by being given an order they chose to obey, experiencing the agentic shift into the agentic state, therefore acting as agents to the authority figure.
The Military service act was passed so the Canadian government could provide more troops to support its Allied countries. This decision can be argued as negative for a few different causes. First, Prime Minster Borden was elected on a policy that he would not imply conscription but when the Canadian military began to run low on soldiers he implied a conscription policy forcing able bodied Canadians from 20-45 to join the military. Another reason is that, this decision caused a conflict between French and English Canadians because Quebec did not feel compelled to help a country they weren’t tied to. Thirdly, after the policy was passed riots broke out in Montreal and Quebec City.
