1.0 INTRODUCTION Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered learning method in which students learn about a subject through the experience of problem solving. They learn both thinking strategies and area of knowledge. The goals of PBL are to help us to develop our general knowledge, critical thinking, and problem solving skill and team work. In order to finish our project, we are having our weekly meeting to share new information related to our issue. Our instructor, Assoc. Prof. Dr Muslim gives a lot of support and guide during progressing. Every his critics and positive comments give us an idea how to access the appropriate information. We choose National Key Result Area for our theme where the topic is Raising Living Standard of Low Income Households. The significant we choose this topic is to measure our ability to adapting the theory knowledge that we have learned in Public Sector Accounting to study deeply the real issue. We want to know how the government financial accounting system would work as the facts there are many initiatives implemented by government under National Key Result Areas such as reducing crime, fighting corruption, improving student outcomes, improving rural basic infrastructure, improving urban public transport and raising living standard of low income household. As a matter of fact, the quality of life of most Malaysians has improved significantly in the last 40 years. As a result of these efforts, less than 4% of Malaysians still live in poverty today. For this project, we would like to investigate further in this issue since there are many shortcomings listed regarding on the topic in the Government Transformation Programme Annual Report 2011.
