This affected me during the bleep test because vasodilation allows more oxygenated blood to travel to the actively respiring muscle tissues. Other acute responses which occur to the musculoskeletal system during exercise include an increase in muscle pliability. If your muscles get warmer because of the contraction temperature is going to rise this makes them more pliable and reduces the risk of injury. Pliability is the stretchiness of the muscles. There is also an increase in the synovial fluid at the joint.
Describe and evaluate two or more theories of the formation of romantic relationships (9 marks + 16 marks) January 2011 One theory that outlines the formation of relationships is the reward/ need satisfaction theory that was developed by Byrne and Clore (1970). The theory suggests that we form a relationship because the presence of a particular individual is associated with reinforcement. This is because rewarding stimuli creates positive feelings and these stimuli may be people. These people therefore make us happy, so, due to operant conditioning, we seek to adopt behaviours that lead to a desirable outcome and avoid those that lead to an undesirable outcome. Therefore, the presence of an individual produces positive reinforcement as they have a more attractive appeal.

Based on changes in amplitude and frequency of sEMG, did motor unit activation increase, decrease, or stay the same with increasing muscle load? The motor unit activation increased with muscle load based on the changes in amplitude and frequency of sEMG because the motor units which are activated are contracting at a greater frequency. 8. Do you think that the force of isometric contraction increased, decreased, or stayed the same as muscle load increased? The force of the isometric contraction increased as the muscle load increased.

Having access to places such as day centres and community events also promotes the social well-being of the individual as humans are naturally social animals and interaction promotes our sense of self-worth and belonging. It may involve group activities so individuals interact with others, can make new friends or learn life skills, which in turn helps to enhance independence and confidence. This also contributes to the awareness that there are people out there who can and are willing to help. When individuals are made aware that they have a wide range of choices of services and facilities, as in the case of those who are in their road to recovery (physical or mental) and have choices in terms of the forms of treatments available, they feel empowered when they are encouraged to explore
