JFK Rhetorical Analysis Essay U.S. President, John F. Kennedy in his inaugural address, addresses that Americans should work together to keep the U.S. strong, to end human misery, and to seek peace with our enemies. Kennedy’s purpose is to get rid of the all the controversy since he won by a small margin and he is the first Catholic President. He adopts motivational tone in order to change the opinion of his live audience. Kennedy begins his speech by establishing his view on human misery. He appeals to the emotional side of the audience by saying “For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life”, he then states that the people of America “are the heirs of that first revolution” with the British.
Further, the president dealt with the crisis in Libya by acting on his feet, and prioritizing ways to which the matter could be effectively resolved. He stated that his top priority was to secure the safety of all American lives in danger, then to investigate the cause of the crisis, and finally bring those to justice who were involved. This effective display of leadership can leave the American public feeling that the leader of their nation is able to handle any immediate crisis the country may face, and that the president truly cares about the safety and security of the nation. Most recently, President Obama has had to counteract the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy. The president took time out of his campaign to visit the areas devastated by the hurricane and to console those affected and reach out to them by showing that he truly cares about resolving the horrible effects of this natural disaster.

This pathos describes how Lincoln would care for his people and how he would put the task of helping the people suffering from the war first, serving as a strong pathos since it is not only emotionally affecting his people, but also encouraging and giving them hope. The war destroyed millions of families. Lincoln in the first place gave his attention on healing the people and their families, instead of describing how beautiful the future would be and giving unrealistic assumptions This pathos and ethos made people, no matter the North or the South, to feel that they are in unity. Both sides were suffering the same war and urged to end it, while they shared a same religion. God plays an important role to connect the people together, which enhances Lincoln’s credibility in his speech besides his position as a president and occasion of this speech.
Wars have been waged, people have died, and relationships have been destroyed all in the name of freedom from persecution. Even after grotesque amounts of destruction and blood shed just to live a normal life, groups all around the world are still persecuted for their differences by those in society who are ignorant enough to believe that their way of living must be the only correct way to live. Through broadening our mindsets and being open to the possibilities of various styles of proper living, the world’s population can become more unified. Prejudice and racism are a significant part of society, but they can go away in the future through stripping power and meaning from the derogatory words that plague our world and from our parents being more accepting, they can teach us their accepting ways, and through passing acceptance down to future generations, it can be amplified. Prejudice is incurred by the hate we feel towards people whose customs and behaviour differ from our own; the fear of the unknown is the basis of all prejudice.
All people deal with conflict and war in different way and sometimes never fully recover at all. In a time of serious conflict, being war, whole societies can be affected many different ways, Mazar-e–Sharif is a perfect example of this, they are a town who are constantly experiencing war and conflict between their own people and other forces. Almost everyone in Mazar-e-Sharif will have experienced a pain of being injured or of losing a loved one, growing up in a place of constant war would have affected children in major ways, the children will always being living in fear of attacks and will never truly trust the government system. The fear of war is not only in Afghanistan but also in many other places such as Vietnam and most recently Libya, these two countries have had basically the same fate as Afghanistan, with the constant fear and thought of death in the back of their minds. Not everyone copes with conflict the same way, some just curl up and wait for it to finish, but not everyone.
While the Kahlor’s thinks it is great that the Americans go out and defend their country, they don’t thinks that the country does enough for those that return home, using their son as an example; the country didn’t offer an effective form of PTSD treatment, and they believe it was worth the risk. In the third text Nathaniel Fick thinks that serving the army is a kind of rite of passage, and serves to make you the man you are supposed to be. Sarah Palin uses a simple tactic to engage the reader as seen in the text “Why They Serve”. Sarah Palin starts out by using her firstborn son, Track, as an example, and in that way she appeals to the families in the United States. Reading through the article you notice that she keeps referring back to her son and the families, for example in line 9-10 she says “I was the mom of a young soldier being sent
