Secretaries, businessmen, mothers and fathers. Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by despicable acts of terror. Most Americans remember where they were when the series of malicious events occurring, and the feeling of shock they had when it was first heard on the news. On that day most citizens were scared for their lives and the lives of loved ones involved in the attack. It wasn’t until three or four years later people started to ask questions about who was behind the events.
These three events had the biggest impact upon the USA. The assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. was a very surprising moment in 1968. The news of his death had an effect on almost everyone. After his death his message seemed to sink deeper into people’s thoughts and hearts after his death who agreed with them. For the most part blacks and whites would put their differences aside, but some blacks grew very angry and riots
9/11 2001 affected Americans because it was is the most tragic day in American history. Members of Al Qaudea, hijacked American Air Line’s airplanes, and crashed them into many buildings such as the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and were possibly going toward the White House. September 11 showed America that we’re not invincible and we need to expect the unexpected, to prepare for the future, and to be ready for anything. Also, fire fighters lost their lives do to the terrorist attack by saving others. Finally, it helped Americans come together and realize that every person in America was affected by the attack.
The date of September 11th, 2001 will without doubt forever be remembered as one of the most tragic days in American history. That day, two passenger airplanes were hijacked by terrorists and were flown into the Twin Towers in New York City. The impact of these airplanes caused the buildings to collapse and in result tragically claimed thousands of lives. Nearing the end of such a catastrophic day, President George W. Bush addressed the nation and delivered a powerful speech. Although his audience were not only the American citizens but also other worldwide leaders and citizens, he was mainly addressing the citizens of America as they were the ones who were mostly affected.
Smith was part of the medevac unit and with every injured or dead American life he saw his anger toward the Vietnamese increased. Smith realized while attending a Vietnam veterans group that all his hatred for the Vietnamese was from all the pain that he saw the young soldiers go through when they were hurt. Smith saw no reason for fighting and the American lives lost in the conflict were for nothing. People were killed and fought for this country to achieve nothing in the end. The Vietnam War affected millions of veterans and showed the United States that even though they had the most powerful and best military in the world they could still lose a war.
The after effects of this attack are still remembered by many! Family’s morn over the deaths of their family members every year on this day and it is totally unfair. In conclusion to the attack President Bush sent our military to Afghanistan to find and capture Bin Laden. In 2003 Bush then sent the military to Iraq and many people were upset. People were so upset because they were afraid that sending troops to Iraq would take the focus off of Afghanistan and the mission to find Bin Laden.
We will remember every family that lives in grief. While the shocked nation looked on, Gore attempted to make sense of a senseless act, and bring solace to a community wild with grief and confusion. Gore’s first words to the assembled crowd were simple and straightforward: “Nothing I can say to you can bring you comfort.” This was a very powerful use of an intricate rhetoric, for Gore went on to call on a Higher Authority than himself, the Lord God, as the only Source able to provide the kind of comfort needed in such a terrible crisis.
