Rhetorical Analysis Essay In Barack Obama’s speech in “A More Perfect Union” he uses ethos, logos and pathos to reach his goal and perfect union. One of Obama’s biggest issues were race. Racism was a struggle for Obama during the campaign; people we not only being racist they were directing it to Obama as being “too black” or “not black enough.” Obama used ethos to show the Americans why racism is not good. “Towards a better future for of children and our grandchildren.” All of the future children may not look the same or come from the same places but that is their families history and their families culture. A child should not have to worry about racism at any point in their lives. Logos were used to describe the beliefs Reverend Jeremiah Wright. “He used incendiary language to express… rightly offend white and black alike.” What is this teaching our children of the future? That it is okay to have a church with only your race? Wright is not the only reason of racism but he certainly isn’t trying to stop it. “These people are a part of me. And they are a part of America, this country I love.” This quote shows pathos, showing that Obama loves his country. No matter what happens tovthis country, Obama will always love and be a part of this country. No matter how much Obama tries to eliminate racism, there will always be racism. Everyone I believe is entitled to their own opinion but should no express it with one who does not believe so. But Obama will try his hardest to eliminate racism as much as
