Article Analysis- “Revitalizing the American Dream” “Revitalizing the American Dream”, by Adam Bluestein and Amy Barrett is an article from “Inc.” magazine that gives some ideas for boosting the amount of small businesses formed in America each year. In this analysis I will cover the three ideas that I think are the best, and give reasons why I like them. With unemployment being such a major concern in America, and small business being the source of most job creation, entrepreneurs are vital to the health of our economy. The three ideas from the article that I like the most are: “Our education system should foster entrepreneurship among the young”, “Reward innovation through business-plan competitions”, and “Take entrepreneurship out of the business schools.” The first of my favorite ideas mentioned in the article is about fostering entrepreneurship in our young through the educational system. As long as I can remember I have wanted to be my own boss. Children are our future, and education is the key to that future. By instilling a sense of entrepreneurship in our children in the early years of their education we can ensure that in the years to come small businesses will be healthier and more abundant. I know that if I would have had more exposure to entrepreneurship as a child I would be better prepared as a college graduate to start my own company. My second favorite idea is to reward innovation through business-plan competitions. I am a fan of competitions that foster the creation of new ideas. I think it is a great idea to get the small business economy booming. Announce a business deal or cash award as the prize and watch as the ideas flood in. Not only will the winner of the contest be a success, but all the work that goes into the other ideas will pay off by helping those that don’t win to better their plans and eventually turn them
