Rett Syndrome: The Facts and Findings I move my hands in such a way that it looks like im washing them. When I look at you it’s almost as though I’m looking right through you. When you talk to me I hear you, but I can’t speak back. When you walk away from me I try my best to follow but at some point I might fall down. I rely on you for almost everything I do and when I don’t, you have to be right there anyways. My name is Zoe Adams and I’m a 10 year old girl with Rett Syndrome. Rett syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that affects the way the brain develops. It occurs almost exclusively in girls.
