At this point, I think it depends on what are your reading interests and how reading meets your interpretation skills to be understood or to get you involved on its field. I have always been a thinker, but throughout my coursework, I have sharpened my critical analysis skills and I like to read more books than I did before. First time that I started to read it was in my first grade. I was so excited at the time and I felt like a hero. My first teacher, Luljeta, was a big help to put me in the track.
During the semester August to October, I am taking my English writing class. I learned many writing techniques and many types of sentences, such as simple, compound, complex, run-on, and comma splice. This class has helped me a lot to practice and improve my writing skills. In my point of view, my writing during this semester improved a lot in the structural way of an essay. The two personal issues that I plan to focus on and improve are gaining self awareness and adopting lifelong learning.
At the beginning of the semester, I had poor writing skills and critical thinking skills. Various class activities explored avenues and styles of writing. I learnt how to incorporate creativity in writing to satisfy the readers. Skills acquired in class shaped my perception of gothic literature as a noble genre that applies creativity and critical thoughts that change the society. After undertaking this course, I have high regard for literary discourse that promotes positive thinking in society.
I took the comments, criticism, and suggestions professor Underwood gave me on previous papers and put them into this paper. I also began to see changes within my grade because last semester my first rough draft grade was a C I believe but, this semester my rough draft grade was an A. When it comes to the quizzes, last semester online quizzes where questions based on the readings that we were covering. I never had a problem with these because as long as I read the required material I did really well on those
Final Letter English 102 Fall 2010/Dr. St. Martin In a 1 page letter/memo which you will email to me, I would like you to reflect on what you have achieved this semester and offer any suggestions to me. Following are some questions to help you structure your response (you do not have to respond to all of them, just the ones that you find most meaningful): 1) Describe in detail how your writing process has changed since the beginning of the semester. Which aspect/part of the writing process (brainstorming, revision, peer review, etc.) is most important to your process and why?
Approaches to Research- Early Years writing skills development Having observed and experienced the many differing writing abilities with reception aged children, the principal topic of interest for my dissertation research project is to focus on the writing skills of children when they first start full time school. Robert-Holmes (2005) states your research should have clear aims and be worthwhile. If it is worthwhile it is likely to be very interesting and enjoyable and that is necessary to eventually complete a research project. I have therefore chosen to explore the chosen topic and will start a very small scale research project in line with my approaching future research project. I have chosen this area of research because it is an area of great interest to me and I am genuinely motivated to explore the possible contributing factors which may explain the reasons for such different abilities and styles amongst such young children.
Although brainstorming is a critical process, I do it in my brain due to the fact that in my brain, I know what to write about right after I get my assignment. Like my instructor, I think about it for a few days, maybe three or four. Then, I work in the best of my ability. While my brainstorming is going on in my head, simultaneously my brain outlines my text for me. I get the rough conception in my head and progress it into actually writing.
Growing up as a child, I would always depend on writing as a getaway from society. I would write whatever came to my imagination and bought it to life with just a paper and an ink pen. Writing was a tool that was very beneficial to me during my teenage years and even now in my adult years. I have had some experiences that were both good and bad when it came to writing, but nonetheless, writing became my forte in my English courses. The feeling that I have when writing is a very joyous one because it is my nonverbal communication to express my emotions and thoughts without the critism of the outside world.
I tended to learn more effectively by taking notes in class and rewriting them later. Later in my years of high school I highlight passages in my readings and write them down on paper. I read over the notes repetitiously in order to grasp the information. In addition to being hands on learner, I am a bottom-up learner. I am a very detail-oriented individual who prefers to have a rock solid foundation built before I proceed to new challenges.
My Experiences as a Writer I have several experiences a writer. Most of these experiences are from my life as a student and from my working career. I think that most of my fun experiences were during my school age years. I learned the basics of writing and used each assignment as a tool. As an adult I used what I learned and applied it to my professional and everyday life.
