Longton contrasts with Fishwick as Longton is very wealthy with a high percentage employed in the professional sector but many of Longton’s residents are forced to travel to work as jobs are not locally available around the area, in this sense Longton is quite isolated when compared with Fishwick and this can effect social wellbeing as the difficulty for some residents to reach the centre and services can be a problem. Pleasant Grove, Alabama is a very diverse community. The total population is just under 10,000 with a little over half of the population White while the other half is African-American or other races. The community is mainly made up of houses and is very easy to get lost in. However, there is the typical small town grocery store, a Dollar General, and a Fred’s. There is also a Jack’s fast food restaurant, Subway, and a small ma and pop diner.
