Mrs. Wright’s situation is comparable to a prisoner who is condemned to incarceration for life with no parole when they have never committed a crime. They start to believe that they may have really committed the crime. When the justice system eventually finds out that they never committed that crime and release them, they become a completely different person. It may be easier for them to believe they had done wrong instead of facing that half of their life was taken. It may be easier for them
In the United States, there are million of women and men being convicted of crimes and sent to prison. The prison system is thought to be a place for rehabilitation, for convicted felons to change their life from being a menace to society to begin a positive contributor. She was poor and had a baby that was not her husbands, yet she decided to keep it and it was the savior of the world. I really learned a lot from the “our response” section of the article, because it gave me a new perspective on how to go about talking to be about abortion. I used to try and show them hos it is wrong and awful, but that’s not our main goal. We need to remember that only God can change the hearts of those who do not believe and we must treat those who do not with grace, gentleness, and
But the men that make the false accusations about the young girls are not held accountable for the lies or considered a lawbreaker. I’ve reread this article a few times now and I appreciate her points on how unfair women in our society were treated and think she gave great examples to back herself. Andy’s accusation was a little more wishy-washy because they had no hard evidence that he killed his wife and her lover. Though they are very different with very different crimes, they both fit an archetype called the condemned victim because they both live in a type of jail whether real or metaphorical, both of their crimes deal with life, and they both ended up with their friend/loved one who helped them through the tough times. Then later on in my life I learned to love and forget, also that people make mistakes I just have to learn from their mistakes
