Decision-Making Process Paper Juan Galvan MTG230 August 19, 2012 Mark Trask Decision-Making Process Paper It was 2008 and the United States economy was in downward trend. At that time I was working in as an Iron Worker in the Seattle, WA area. I knew I did not want to be working in construction my entire life so I made a decision to pursue my Associates degree from the University of Phoenix. I had attended a community college in my area while working fulltime and was able to transfer about 30 credits towards my Associates degree at the University of Phoenix. The process started when I received a phone call while on lunch break from a University of Phoenix. I then made sure that I would put my mind to it and make sure I put all my heart and soul into pursuing my degree. I spoke with the advisors and took the proper steps from applying to financial aid and signing up for the coursework. My advisors made me feel important and assured me it was a great decision to pursue my degree. I remember playing basketball at a local gym and just daydreaming about what my future jobs would be like versus the current constructions jobs I had been at. I imagined an office setting where we use business attire and are in a professional setting. I knew that working towards my degree I would be able to achieve that. My process was fairly similar to the decision making process in the text reading. I planned accordingly to make the proper accommodations for school. I directed myself to make the proper decision. I controlled my decision and controlled the outcome of my decision. I organized my life and time to make sure I practiced time management and utilized my time effectively and efficiently.
