prejudice is extreme in to kill a mockingbird : it is found in many forms including racial and social prejudice. prejudice by definition is to judge someone without knowing the full truth of that person. Tom Robinson are in my opinion the ones most affected by racial prejudice in the book. Tom RObinson was a good, loyal black man who was accused by Bob Ewell of raping his daughter: MAyella Ewell. Although all the evidence Atticus has gotten together points to Tom Robinson, the Jury is made up of all white farmers who are all racists and they found Tom guilty the second he was accused. Tom is then sent to prison and is ultimately killed. this is a form of prejudice because although Tom was a good man the people of MAycomb judged him without listening to the true facts. another tiype of prejudice in to kill a mocking bird is social prejudice. Social classes are of extreme importance in the town of Maycomb and it rules how everything works. People were placed in different social classes based on there economical status and there skin colour. an example of social prejudice is when Scout wants to bring a boy home from school called Walter Cunningham. Walter is below the FInchs''social class and therefore Aunt ALexandra tells Scout she should not talk to or befriend Walter. "'the Cunninghams are good people : but they are not our type of people" Prejudice is a main theme in this book and it helps us understand that it is never a good idea to judge a book by its
