To them, if there is a good side to the world and a bad side to the world, then there must be two gods to keep track of it all. Gnostic believers even present “evidence” defending their position through information found in the secret books of the gnostic gospels (29). Though this argument seems sound, orthodox Christianity is the more popular belief on this subject because the Gnostics were considered ignorantly dualistic; God clearly sent his word through the Bible stating that he is the one and only God that ever was and ever will
However, the examples are found throughout. An example of scripture that supports the idea that women should not be leaders of the church is 1 Timothy 2:12-14. This verse says, “12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell
All others will be annihilated. Hell does not exist.” Jehovah Witnesses do not belive that hell fire exist and that a loving God would punish his people by placing them in hell for enternity. However in our bible, it clearly states that drunks, sinners, and even adulterers will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Now moving on to the practices and traditions of the Jehovah witnesses. This religion doesn’t take part in any war, voting, blood transfusions, homosexuality, no use of crosses, no Easter Sunday, no premarital sex, no gambling or drinking ,no abortion and not even birthdays.
• Jehovah’s witnesses differ from other religious groups by their belief in the leader in the church or religion. Jehovah’s witnesses have no human leader. They have a high value on moral living. Also, they do not take part in gambling, anal sex, oral sex, over drinking, abortions, and wars for they believe it is part of sin. Jehovah’s witnesses believe in the bible like many other religious groups.
While most religions see the cross as a holy symbol, Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe that Jesus died on the cross but on a punishment stake and therefore they see the cross as a pagan symbol. They state that all war is wrong and that the laws of the people should not be followed when they conflict with the Church's religious principles. Unlike most religions they do not believe in the existence of Hell. They do not
“What about Mary, the mother of Jesus? Or Mary Magdala, who preached to the apostles?” (Viewpoints). The bible never says anything about women being banned from religious governance. People like, “Catholic scholars see no reason to exclude women. By all evidence available to me, I estimate that at least three-quarters of Catholic theologians disagree with the official position held out by the Vatican” (Viewpoints).
Points thirty-two through forty summarize to say that letters of pardon by the Church do not represent true forgiveness of God. Forgiveness is granted only by God. Luther also stated that all the blessings of Christ come from God even without letters of pardon. Points forty through fifty-one can be summarized as the purchasing pardons is no replacement of one’s moral obligations for acts of love and kindness. Being a Christian involves devout prayer and good deeds for others.
Christianity VS. Voodooist A. Voodooist felt left out because Christians were taking over so there started a conflict. B. Christians are very quick to respond when help is needed due to the facts that in the bible their God says love God with all you’ve got and neighbors as you love yourself. C. Christians consist of several different religions and is still diversity and ethnocentricity going on within it. D. While voodooism is only combine with 2 and there’s no diversity within their religion. E. Christians do healings same as voodooist.
These questions were asked by a man called Epuicurus, who lived between 341BC and 270BC, yet they still have not been answered. I feel this is the perfect example that God does not exist because if God truly existed he would make it possible, especially for those who are skeptical, either by demonstration or by sound logical argument. He would know exactly what it would take to “open the heart” of every non-believer. Yet for more than two millennia the greatest philosophical and scientific minds of humanity - presumably inspired by God - have offered nothing more than circular and illogical arguments. Furthermore he is completely illogical.
Although the parents of the poor Kara Neumann believed in a religion in which did not believe in hospitals or any healing other than through faith, I still believe that a child’s health is more important than religion. There was even a quote stating, “Jesus never send anyone to a doctor or a hospital…” reading this quote actually kind of hurts me. People who think that Jesus could have or still does tell people to do things I personally believe they are very closed minded. Many people like that believe that their religion is true and all others are fake, but who are they to tell other people that they are wrong in what they believe. Believing that Jesus could “talk” to someone and tell them to go to the hospital is ridiculous because he is unable to actually contact
