Victoria DiGiovanni The majority of high schools are now requiring a certain amount of community service hours in order to graduate. Most students see this as a chore, but just how beneficial is it? Community service improves the student’s character, exposes the student to new interests, and benefits the student’s future. Mandatory community service enhances these advantages. A student’s participation in various activities throughout the community opens the door to not only a better society, but also an improvement in the student’s morality and character.
This would be efficient for students to get to and from school. Therefore it is crucial for the administrative to do what is necessary and provide students with a parking lot. Another way for St. Louis administration to improve the lives of students is by providing them with more tutors. Within the seven weeks of school students have, it becomes difficult to get a grasp of a subject, in order to reduce difficulties in learning, it would be helpful for St. Louis to hire more tutors or even let other students tutor one and other before or after classes. This creates a better learning experience for the student and the tutor, a blast from the past for the tutors.
Many affiliations involve customized degree programs target specific industries or functions that are important to the company. Some academic affiliations include a reduced tuition cost for employees of a company at a certain college. By earning a degree at a selected academic provider the employee receive a discount on tuition, therefore making their tuition money last longer. (Rodriguez) Many gifted employees constantly want to master and advance, if they feel they are not mastering and advancing, they are not remaining ambitious with their peers for promotional opportunities and career growth. Once top employees feel that they are no longer mastering, they begin to look elsewhere for a new job opportunity.
Eg: If there is a school trip that cost certain amount of money a young person from a more wealthy back ground will be able to go and enjoy the visit learning new things, sharing experiences with their peers. A y.p who is not in a financial position to go will not get to enjoy and learn the benefits and is excluded from the group. A young person who is financially stable has the choice to from a variety of hobbies and interests which they may want to explore and possibly achieve in. There are some schools around the country that are year round. Advocates argue that summer break is a waste of time while students could be in school learning. On the other hand, opponents say that now schools are stressful and need a break. I believe that the three month traditional summer vacation should be maintained because school is stressful for many students, students want to travel and get with the family, and it could improve the economy. I believe that the three month traditional summer vacation should be maintained because many students get stressed.
One reason a student should receive extra credit to pass, is that they have trouble with that one specific subject. If you don’t understand something it’s hard to get it right on a test. Many tutoring services arn’t free, and some families don’t have the extra cash laying around. Some students after seeing there failing grade just completely give up. Teachers should give them extra credit they can still have a chance at passing the class.
The employer offers a sacrifice to trust employee with money, with confidential information and clients. Moreover, the employee still offers a sacrifice to give up the opportunity to work for somebody else. However, the employer takes a risk since the employee may leave after being trained, but before producing for employer. Another example is student dilemma: work more, get less free money. They work hard to make money for school, but their extra income may cost them financial aid amounts.
Two-year colleges give those of lower income levels the opportunity to a lower cost education. I feel Perlstein is incorrect, and even as the income difference between rich and poor stays unbalanced, a two-year college can give an education opportunity to those who wish to learn, but cannot afford a four-year university. A graduate of a four-year university may have trouble finding a job after graduation, and also be in debt without an income. Whereas, a graduate of a two-year college may have an easier time finding employment and then having the means to save money to attend a four-year university without having to take out loans. I fully believe that only those who have attended college can truly talk about their experiences.

Also, there are a lot of jobs that offer flexible schedules to their employees. These are not advantages that a person entering college straight out of high school would receive. Now, there are some disadvantages to being an older student. For an older student, who has been out of the classroom for a number of years, it may be hard for the student to grasp the concept or comprehend what the
Students feel ashamed of what school they go to because their friends can afford to go to a “better” school. Instead of students being able to go wherever they please, they must remain in a school they can afford financially. It is said that back during the 80’s school was very affordable to attend. So why is it that now in present time, a university is so hard to get into? I believe it is because of money and competitions of universities.
