This student showed a strong positive moral understanding of this ethical dilemma and chose to make the better decision. For me, after reviewing my ethical lens summary, I found that I am a person of autonomy and rationality, which is something that I agree with. It showed me that I am a person that has a strong understanding what is right from wrong. The downside of this is that my blind spot is I can tend to become quite judgmental of others. Values and ethics in an academic organization are issues of extreme importance, and a number of studies have been devoted to understanding the influential factors behind it (Case Study from the Formative Years of the Institute, 2012).
• Allows teachers to focus on learning instead of discipline. • This takes away from teaching time because you are preparing rules and procedures. Kagan, Kyle, and Scott's "Win-Win Discipline" • It helps bring out the potential of the students even through disciplining them. • It is very clear for expectations that are passed to the students. • It stresses the importance of using the classroom to help the students overcome negative attitudes.
In Wuthering Heights, Heathcliff is portrayed in a certain way which changes drastically throughout the novel. The way in which others perceive him differs and gradually changes as the novel progresses. Heathcliffs character is fairly controversial as it is unknown to the reader how he is feeling, and who he really is. His personality is not presented in a way that would demonstrate to the reader who he is as many of the comments about Heathcliff are from the other judgemental characters in the novel rather than from himself. The reader is not provided with enough information on his background to know enough about his former life.
We have cultural diversity. Immigrants have come and settled in different regions of the country to take advantage of our rights and freedoms. Some people look at America as the Land of Oppurtunity. They believe they can find a better job and a better life for their family. I am proud to live in the United States if my parents didn't want me to attend a private school, I could still attend a public school and get a good education.
By accepting your own personal responsibility can lead your life to any goals you have set for your life. Personal responsibility is a state of being that enables you to hold yourself accountable for your actions and make independent choices. Even though many people have obtained a good job without a college education, college success is important because it is instrumental in gaining greater advantages in life and provides opportunities for growth and development of self. College life is full of opportunities for growth and knowledge. The demands of college work enable students learn to manage their time, practice healthy living, acquire tools for reducing and avoiding stress, surpass inner fears, and obtain inner strengths.
To be successful in college you should self discipline, have fun with learning and studying, and be an over achiever. Self discipline according to thefreedictionary.com is having the training and control of oneself and one's conduct, usually for personal improvement. With school the way I have self discipline is when I finish an assignment I give myself a reward for finishing it, and when I don’t finish it I take something that I like or like to do away until I finish the assignment. Having self discipline not only helps you do better in school it also helps you do better in life. You won’t only use self discipline in school but you might also use it at your job or with housework.
A résumé is the one thing a college student will need later on in life. It is best to know how to make one as soon as they enter college. A résumé is a brief summary of one’s skills, accomplishments, and history as it relates to a potential job. Even if they are just seeking a job where the only requirement is to fill out a job application, there will be a portion, especially if it’s an online application, where one can place a résumé to help the applicant look more desirable than someone else putting in for the same job without a résumé. Having a résumé adds a sense of confidence to the owner of that special document.
Throughout the book, there is a mutual frustration between Christopher and those he interacts with, both do not understand how the other thinks. He does not get human emotions and does not understand illustrative speech. "I find people confusing. this is for two reasons. The first reason is that people do a lot of talking without using many words...the second main reason is that people often talk using metaphors."
One of the main reasons I have chosen to ho back t school is my family and their well-being. I feel like if I go to school and get an education then I can take care of them the way I need to take care of them. I feel like going back to school will have many good advantages as well as some disadvantages . Some good things is that I will be furthering my education and in the world we live in it’s almost required. Another advantage is that many more job opportunities will come and I will have a better selection then I do now.
Personal Responsibility as it Relates to Student Success Amber Macalam GEN/200 May 13, 2014 James Lucas Personal Responsibility as it Relates to Student Success “If you think someone or something other than yourself is responsible for your happiness or success, I'd guess you're not that happy or successful,” (Liano, n.d.). Students who take responsibility for their own goals and commitments have the qualities and skills to achieve success in their life, both at home and in school. Practicing personal responsibility can also create core ethical characteristics that can be substantially beneficial to the success of a college student. This paper will explain how students, who are accountable to their goals and commitments in school, have the necessary skills and qualities to become successful. “Taking personal accountability is a beautiful thing because it gives us complete control of our destinies,” (Schuck, 2013, p.12).
