Pomegranate Seeds: Narrative Story A dream. That’s what it is, a dream. A horrifying, blood curdling dream that no soul could fathom. Not even Zeus himself could salvage the union of two worlds. It would have annihilated, if it weren’t for me. My name is Ceres, daughter of Arus, guardian of the plants of the world. Throughout my life, I’ve always seen myself as a lanky, emaciated twig who could barely harvest a piece of measly grass, let alone a myriad of grape vineyards. My mother could cultivate a series of banyan trees at their prime in the blink of an eye. Growing up on Mount Olympus, you’d always heed the strand of petty gossip of the mortal world, since you’d most likely never know when you’d hear of it again. We has a portal that was open every blue moon, when we all could visit. Mortal’s were almost always shoed off by everyone. That is until Titus came. Titus was Zeus’s most prized apprentice, his second in command. Titus loathed these “despicable” creatures, claiming nothing of good health to us. But Zeus refused to tolerate such tantrums, throwing him from this throne. One night, upon the blue moon of the century, an enormous earthquake appeared, splitting the mountain in two. Molten lava spewed from within the cracks, and houses were melted away as if they were plastic in a fire. All at once, Zeus’ lightning bolt danced across the sky in a uproarious raptor. Covering my ears at the hair-raising sound, I ran to the corner of my room, hiding within the engulfing terror. Suddenly, I felt two hands swooping me up. I look up to find my mother, blackened with soot with panic painted across her face. I cry to her, burrowing my face in her chest, quivering in scare. She sets me down, and casts a spell so the great oak lifts us within its braches. “We’re safe here,” she says in between her breaths. “Zeus has been entrapped within the underworld, and Titus has
